Darius
Welp, it's Darius. You shouldn'ta picked Tank Kassa Top ;) Just kidding. Although this is a very hard matchup early, he has almost 0 kill potential on you from lv 6 on, since whenever he E's, you can jump out. Get RoA first. You don't have to go out of your way to rush Iceborn since Darius has insane amounts of built-in armor pen. Get Iceborn 2nd. Max your Q first, so you can last-hit from a distance, then start roaming once you're lv 6.
First I want to tell you how I got the idea for this build:
I recently got demoted from Diamond after a bunch of very frustrating matches at 0 LP.
I had been playing a bit of top lane tank Akali, better known as "Tankali", in normals and thought I might as well try that in ranked.
Long story short, I won my lane 4/5 times, ended the game on a positive KDA each time, and still lost all 5 matches on 0 LP.
Don't get me wrong, I know that others play her to some success but I just felt she wasn't my kind of playstyle, especially in this ******* Janna-meta - You jump on the ADC, they jump away, you jump again, get ****blocked by the supp, you do it again and there's a freakin' Nautilus infront of you and you die a miserable death without accomplishing much.
So I thought about what makes Akali strong, and who could do her job better.
I needed someone with a bit more utility and a safe escape, but it had to be someone extremely mobile like Akali.
If you had to say who the most mobile champion in the game is, 9 out of 10 times you would say Kassadin with his 5 second flash. And here's the problem. I had NEVER played Kassadin before, so I just did a couple of normals with a build vaguely similar to Akali's.
The more I played the more it seemed to me that tank Kassa is almost easier to play than Tankali, or at least far more forgiving if you jump in, since you can just jump back out 4 seconds later, and almost noone is able to kill a tank in that time.
I realized that this might actually have some potential, and the more I looked into the champion itself - his mobility, item synergy and the fact that in his W he has an aa reset - the more I thought that this could be my fast way back to Diamond.
Anyway, please give it a try before you judge. If you do, I guarantee that it'll be fun.
And you'll be surprised at the amount of damage you can dish out through that thick skin of
legendary Tankadin.
