Why This Build?
This is a really strong build because the extra ad it gives you while being able to sustain with tank items. It is a little costly but it can really pay off making you super annoying late game.
The Math
Gathering Storm gives
10 min: + 8 AP or 5 AD
20 min: + 24 AP or 14 AD
30 min: + 48 AP or 29 AD
40 min: + 80 AP or 48 AD
50 min: + 120 AP or 72 AD
60 min: + 168 AP or 101 AD
etc...
and trancendene gives 1.2 AD per percent of cooldown over the cap. so, after Black Cleaver and Death's Dance, all the extra cooldown is scaled as AD. If you get an extra 50% CD from other items, this gives 50*1.2= 60 extra AD. At 40 minutes, this would bring your AD off runes up to 108 AD.
