Introduction

This is just a preliminary idea of a Varus build that abuses the on hit "cleave" of Runaan's Hurricane.

If somebody has some thoughts on it, feel free to comment. It's just a concept, I'm not saying it'll be a top adc meta build or anything. So be gentle with the criticism.

Update - I've seen this build really pick up in competitive play, not sure if other people are noticing the same thing or not. With the changes to forgotten king it works right into varus's favor. I haven't played him much myself since moving to support for my team, but I see the cleave-y varus having a very strong team fight presence.

Skill Sequence

Always have rank 1 of q-w-e by lvl 3 and I prefer to start with Q since it has more potential use at level 1 and then I like to have rank 2 blighted quiver by 4 and rank 2 arrow at 5. Get ult levels when you can and I sort of stagger Q/W after that, favoring Q first.

Masteries

21/0/9 with appropriate offensive abilities and mana regen/utility helpful masteries. I avoid Lethality/Frenzy on purpose as this build is based more on hard AD and AS output over crit since I don't THINK the "cleave" shots from runaan's can crit (If I'm wrong let me know and I'll adjust that to include a dancer/IE combo)

Runes

With the new changes and the style of this build I went flat arp for reds, flat armor yellows and flat mr blues with movement quints to get in/out of fights and cross the field quickly.

Items

I prefer to avoid the boots/pots at start approach now, the new dorans blade allows far better health sustain for the first few levels. If I have a healing support I'll even start with doran's ring, each minion kill gives mana now making it somewhat appealing when I can get more abilities off and keep their adc zoned.

I like the new ruined king blade for first item, gives you early sustainability with a fair amount of damage and a very nice nuke/slow on a low cooldown. Then I'd look towards building up my runaan's for the AS/proc and then whatever you need from there pending the matchup you have.
