Champion Build Guide

AD Chogath Tank Build/Guide

By StoneArso
Introduction
Hello, I am StoneArso, I experiment in mainly making meme and/or fun builds for league. I play ranked rarely, after I went up to bronze in 2-3 ranked matches, I've never really done ranked. I am here to make sure everyone has fun either reading this guide or watching how horribly this may make you succeed or fail. So let's dive into the basics of this build and how it works.
The Reasoning/Math Behind AD Cho
Cho'Gath , being a health stacking champion with three empowered auto attacks, makes a great candidate for a fun build such as this! I usually build Titanic, Iceborn Gauntlet, Abyssal Mask, One Luxury Item and Ninja Tabi/Mercury Treads and do so religiously on Cho. Why is this you ask? Well... Let me show tell you why this works out greatly. Since Cho has infinite health stacking from his ultimate, he will always gain more damage on his Titanic Hydra, Iceborn, makes him tanky whilst giving him spellblade procs, Abyssal Mask gives him more tank and damage due to the aura passive increasing his E damage. Let me show the math behind this in all it's glory.

Let me take a Chogath with base hp, 10 Feast stacks, all these items, using titanics active once and a singular Vorpal Spike. (We are not counting the madness passive from Liandry's Torment, we are keeping it's base Ap).

160 x 10 = 1600 From Feast Stacks
450(Titanic) + 300(Liandry’s) + 350(Abyssal) = 1100 From Items
1935+1600+1100 = 4635 Total Hp
140+80= 220 AD
75 AP from Liandry's
Titanic Damage on Hit = 51.35 Damage
Titanic Active Damage on Hit = 505.5 Damage
Spellblade = 140 Damage
Damage from Vorpal Spikes(3000 hp Target without Abyssal Mask): 92.5(Base) + 240(HP damage)= 332.5 Damage
Damage from Vorpal Spikes(3000 hp Target with Abyssal Mask): 332.5 + 49.87= 382.37 Damage
Liandry’s Torment Burn(3000 hp target without Abyssal Mask): 225 Damage
Liandry’s Torment Burn(3000 hp target with Abyssal Mask): 225+33.75= 258.75 Damage
Grasp Proc.: 185.4 Damage

First Vorpal Spikes(With Titanic HydraActive and Grasp of the Undying):
220 (AD) + 505.5( Titanic Hydra)+140( Sheen)+382.37( Vorpal Spikes with Abyssal Mask)+ 258.75( Liandry's Torment with Abyssal Mask) = 1905.23 Total Damage
Pros/Cons
Pros

+ Excellent Duelist
+ Makes a Great Frontliner
+ Scales with your health
+ Burst and Snowball is unexpected
+ The Cc in your kit makes you able to catch your opponents or deceptively escape
+ Good Tankiness with Damage
Cho’gath can snowball quickly as people do not expect much damage from an early Titanic If not, once you get it and think a bit you can opress most duelist based lanes, hard tanks or fighters.

Cons

- Being cc chained makes it hard for you to do your burst
- Not as tanky as normal Cho’gath
- Q and W will feel lacking compared to main burst
- Blade of The Ruined King and Liandry’s hard counter you
- Hard to snowball if laner plays really safe
- Kiting prone if Q does not land
This build can help you snowball with unexpected damage, being a bit tanky and being a good frontliner. It makes Cho’gath a fighter/tank more than a mage/tank, which makes you have fighter problems rather than mage problems. Such as being held down in place, things that shred tanks, and people who can counter fighters. Before you choose this build, consider the enemy comp fully as Ap Cho or normal Cho may be better in some enemy compositions than Ad Cho.
Basic Exchange/Quick Laning Tips(Know your opponents!)
There are a few ways to go about basic exchanges. Your basic full exchange combo is... Q Rupture them, W Feral Scream them when you approach, E active Vorpal Spikes, One Auto, Titanic Hydra Active for Auto Attack Reset, Auto until all three Spike's run out. However, this combo is not always the case. Sometimes you may come across someone with an ability that can turn a fight around such as Tryndamere, someone who can disengage hard like Poppy or an ability you need to bait out or delay like Fiora. For these, determine when to use your Feral Scream or Knock up to ruin these. Feral scream on Tryndamere before he can use his ultimate, Knock up or Silence Poppy before she can disengage with her Ultimate and Silence fiora before engaging her to make sure she doesn't riposte your burst combo of Vorpal Spikes and Titanic Hydra. Just make sure if you can kill them with Ult, do it, you gain so much more damage and Hp from it. Your main burst is your Vorpal Spike, One Auto attack, Auto Reset by using Titanic's Active, Auto attack and Auto attack.
End
That is Pretty much, I hope you enjoyed more of a Build than a guide! Good luck!
