Hello my name is Aeon5 & i play games n stuff.

Swain is one of my favorite mages. With his high constant damage and heals you can dominate the mid and late game teamfights if you play your early game right. I am here to help you learn how to play Swain and win most of your games.

- High mana cost on your Ultimate for longer periods of time
- Can be shut down early

The runes i use when i play Swain is fairly standard AP runes. If you want more HP i recommend you switch armor out with scaling HP runes.

Otherwise nothing special here, lets move on.

Your masteries will help you farm a little bit better & do more damage early game. You can add more points into defense if you want to play a more tanky swain but i would recommend 21/09/00 on him.

For items you always want to rush for a Rod of Ages, next grab Zhonya´s Hourglass or Boots. This is your core items. After this i like to grab a Spirit Visage for the Midgame tankiness so my team has a strong front line. This can often get you ahead quite a bit if you get a few picks and take down some towers.

Laning is proably the most important part of the game when you are playing Swain.

Things you want to do: Farm, Ward, Poke, Roam,
Things you dont want to do: Splitpush, Spam Abilities,


When you start in lane try to reach level 2 without taking damage, then start poking them with E and basic attacks. Always hit you E first because your basic attack will deal extra damage when the debuff is applied. Farm safely until you can afford Catalyst the Protector & Boots (I highly recommend you buy wards & potions too)
Kepp farming and roam to botlane around level 7-11 if you think you can grab a kill or two.
After you completed your Core Items focus on pushing mid & taking objectives.

When you have around 3-4 Items completed you should be really strong and be able to win most teamfights.

Swain has a really unique ultimate that turns him into a beast bird man of some sort. He will do damage to 3 opponents and heal. What is cool about this ulitmate is, it still works while using Zhoyna´s Hourglass. (Yes, you can´t be killed meanwhile you are healing & dealing tons of damage)

Farming on Swain can be a little bit hard at sometimes. His basic attack barely does damage.

I highly recommend you take a custom game without any bots to get the feel of his basic attack first.

Remember your passive gives you mana for killing minions so it´s really important to learn to lasthit with swain.
