Introduction

Short and sweet. First guide on Mobafire. It's mostly focused around his Qs passive, so when it gets nerfed things will change.

Also, I do plan on remaking, and updating this guide, and including a Solo top and support variations.

12pm, 1/27/2013. First publish. Not complete, but please review and comment. I'd ask you don't rate it YET, as I'm not even 1/4 finished.

9am 1/28/2013. Having trouble working on this guide, since my main account is suspended (FML),and I have no real runes and masteries,

Summoner spells.

Flash Ignite are the standard, but with his q you can hit a minion and reactivate it to escape so you can go into a game with ghost and cleanse. It's up to you.

Masteries.

Since he is AP DPS, you should be focusing on dealing damage. For the defensive side, you can go either magic resist or armor. Up to you.

Abilities.

Your passive is what will make you tanky AP. each soul you harvest adds 1 armor and 1 ap, and each consecutive has a reduces the bonus by 0.01 down to a minimum of 0.5.

Your Q is what makes this viable. The active pulls the victim twice slightly, and reactivating it pulls you to them. Use this as cc, or as an escape ability.

Your W is what makes you a tanky dps support. it gives everyone around a shield, and more importantly, allies that click the lantern are instantly teleported to Thresh. Basically is a free flash, with double the range, and at a fraction of the CD.

Your E is a slow and a knock back. A multipurpose CC ability. Landing it properly can be tricky if you aren't precise.

Your R is another multipurpose ability. Use it to escape, or secure a kill.
Important, The enemy can flash out of the box, completely negating it.

Combos.
Turret shot-While the enemy has pushed, Q them, then E them into turret range. You can follow that up by using your R.
No name yet-With an ally, drop your lantern near them Q an enemy, reactivate, have your ally activate your lantern, and go to work. Works well with Cho'Gath, as he can then face roll them enemy to death.

I'm sure you can think of more

Items

Starting Items.
Start boots and pots are standard, but flash and pots work too.

First time back.
better boots, flask, and work towards malady. If you can afford malady, great. buy it.

Malady and witts end are the 2 key items. Both are attack speed, with on hit effects, and both do magic damage. With the magic resist you get from Witts end, and the unlimited armor you get from your passive, you should have no survivability problems (unless you don't have the runes and masteries).
