Rammus scales of AP so it makes sense to build some AP instead of building him into a pure tank. With the AP that the build gives you, Rammus will deal tons of damage and tank it all as well.

Using standard tank jungling masteries with focus on defense. Make sure you have the bladed armor mastery as you defensive ball curl as well as that mastery will make jungling a little bit faster.

Summoner Spells

Smite is a must. Flash helps you with those sticky situations because you are Ram-*** the armored-*****. If you want you can use ghost to make your powerball significantly faster but I prefer flash as it can help you get out of sticky situations but it also makes ganks more of a surprise since you just flash out of nowhere.

Skill Sequence

Max that op taunt and make sure have some speed with that powerball and then you can get the shield late game but the few points in it early will help you sustain in jungle and lane if you are holding it for someone and in a team fight.

Aegis will be your first major item. It provides a good armor and magic resist for you and your team and it gives you a small amount of health for a little extra sustain. Personally I think is item is a must for all junglers since they will have to make and impact and team fights and support their team throughout.

Rod of Ages will be your first damage item. The AP boost that caps at 80 as well as the nice health and mana boost will enable you to stay longer in team fights and it will let you spam your abilities a lot more. One key thing with Rammus is that you need to be able to get to the fight fast so with the mana form the Rod you will be able to use powerball a lot more than you would without the Rod. The AP will kill people the powerball initiation will hurt because it scales off of AP and there is the slow. The next time you use Tremors you will hit like a tank with the AP as well the base damage for about 8 sec.

You need to be able to rush into those team fights and what better than Boots of Swiftness and powerball to reach your destination.

This will be a great item as it give you both armor and magic resist. The passive is great for a tank as he can come back and tank some more for his team in order for the ad carry and ap carry to get those late to mid game kills. Also you can come back to life and possibly use your ult again to further weaken everyone and pick up a couple of kills.

I think this item is great for Rammus because your powerball will slow but if you have this item and pop tremors in a team fight it's gg. Since tremors scales off of AP as well you will literally have an ult that slows an entire team and deals a butt load of damage to them. I guarantee this will piss off the other team to no end and will end up calling Rammus the most OP champ. After this build, you can be op without just your taunt. You will have a hard hitting Powerball and a team killing Tremors.

All tanks need some magic resist; they can't just have armor. This item makes sure you have that magic resist, give you legendary health regen, and more movement speed. More movement speed=quicker way to destroy with you ult. Even if they focus the tank like some teams you have have enough armor, magic resist, health, health regen, and a Guardian Angel to make sure you remain invincible. If you have a someone like Zilean on your team there is no way you can die.

There are some more options with this build. Any other items you buy will replace your Ryali's Crystal Scepter.

This item will make you more tanky while sacrificing some of your AP and 50 health. This item should only be used if you are facing a really heavy AD team and they have people like Riven, Tryndamere, or a Xin Zhao. This along with Tremors will deal about 35 extra magic damage to everyone caught by Tremors.

If for some reason you really feel like trolling buy this item. 100 AP + 50 armor + 2 sec stasis + Guardian Angel + Tremors = Really pissed off enemy team. This will drive people mad as you can taunt them and ult anyone and it is insta gg. I laughed when I included this item because it just effectively pisses off the aggressive players as well as the players who have been ks-ed the entire game.
