You can poke him but if he plays right then he should block your combos and also use his shield against your pokes. Just try to farm and wait for ganks. Though many Yasuo players may not know how to counter Sona.
Introduction
Sona is a high burst damage Mage with unrivaled versatility and easy to play. Sona has sustain, a game changing ultimate ability, and also a high skill cap. She can properly fit into the Support role too, having strong poking abilities and allowing you to win lane and get your ADC fed under most circumstances. Sona has a strong early, mid, and late game and is easy to get back into the game with if you die in laning phase or have little CS. Sona still does damage and is always viable in pretty much every part of the game. I have played hundreds of games with Sona in every role but Jungle, including APC. Most summoners play Sona as support in the meta, however her abilities elsewhere are for more useful. Still, Support Sona is great to have and is a good champion overall. Sona has high damage output and almost every game I played with her in mid lane to be specific, I have carried. She is fun to play and can suit the likes of most players. This is my first guide ever I want to thank all of the people who taught me coding and just making a good guide in general! I hope you like it and I plan to update it for every patch and make even more guides. |
Your passive is up after you use your 3rd ability, so if you do not have your passive up then use your E > W > Q > AA as an engaging combo. This will give you a speed boost, then heal you (and give you a shield), and then attack the enemy with your passive proc'ed.
In lane your enemy can hide in bushes to avoid being harassed as your Q only hits what it can see, prioritizing champions. Keeping the bushes warded can help you poke or start fights.
When disengaging, particularly in a duel, using your ultimate, then E'ing to get away will almost gurantee you escape. However against more mobile champions, if you use your E with your passive proc'ed on an enemy while they are stunned, they will have very little chances to catch up with you as their movement speed will be greatly decreased.
Your W when used for your passive will decrease the target's output damage. Using this against high burst damage assassins or mages can possibly save you or an allies' life, as it will have a significant effect on the enemy due to their damage coming instantly rather over time. It's hard to perfect this and requires much practice to use appropriately, but is a powerful skill to know.
Your W gives a shield and a heal at the same time. In lane, leting your ADC or yourself get poked once, and then W'ing as the enemy attempts to poke or engage for you can let you use your shield and heal to maximum potential. Healing the previous attacks and also blocking off a bit of their current attacks. This can actually change who wins a duel if you and your enemies' damage are very close.
Since most high burst damage Mages/Assassins are squishy. , , , are squishy, you want to be targeting them as either you or your teamfight will likely kill them very quickly.Do NOT target tanks if you can help it.
