PLAYSTYLE: Ashe Support is a utility support that uses her heavy slows and powerful ultimate to push fights into her team's favor. She works as a long-ranged "Debuffer", stacking Imperial Mandate, Chempunk Chainsword, and Frost Shot on enemies to make them useless while her team cleans them up.
Unfortunately, most ADC's hate Ashe Support with all their hearts due to a misunderstanding of what makes her a support (and also that most Ashe Support players suck.) This quick knowledge boost of a guide will get you situated quickly and allow you to play Ashe Support - the non-troll way.
In general, Ashe is picked if the enemy team is full of commital low-mid range champions like Garen, Aatrox, Rammus, or Fiddlesticks. Her Hawkshot can stuff enemy picks and engages, and her ability to constantly slow enemies in a long-range, large AoE with Volley cannot be understated.
Unfortunately, Ashe suffers in two ways - One, she cannot buff her teammates in the traditional sense. She more focuses on Debuffs, but Debuffs don't really do anything if your team is being completely useless. Two, as before, ADC's just hate you. Mute everyone, and take breaks in-between games - you're more useful than you think. |
ASHE'S DAMAGE: |
|
Ashe Support isn't meant to deal all that much damage, despite building AD. If you want a long-ranged support that does good damage, try Zyra, Vel'Koz, or Brand. Ashe carries through her slows and synergy with runes and items, not by dealing damage herself. | |

Tips (Click Me!)
- Your Hawkshot is your most powerful utility. No other champion in the entire game has an information tool this good, and because of your high ability haste you'll be able to use it every ~15 seconds.
- Imperial Mandate does alright damage early, but the main thing that it's useful for in the mid-lategame is its nearly constant MS buff, as well as the 60 bonus AP you'll be getting from the passive.
- Chempunk Chainsword's anti-heal doesn't apply from your Ult, as it does only magic damage. Weave in autoattacks to reapply your slow, mandate, and your antiheal.
- Your trading combo in lane is Volley --> Autoattack. The basic attack is the most important part, and will do more damage than the Volley early on. That basic attack will proc your cheap shot, and benefit from the bonus damage of your Frost Shot.
- Use your Hawkshot to keep track of what camps are up. In general, if Gromp or Raptors isn't up (whichever is closer to you), you aren't in danger of being ganked anytime soon. Keep one charge of Hawkshot up for fights, as revealing an enemy with it when they're hiding inside of a bush makes much more of a difference than you might think.
- Using Enchanted Crystal Arrow globally isn't generally a good idea. Instead, use it for more orthodox roams - if you stun the enemy midlaner, they're usually dead
- The biggest difference between a good Ashe Support and a bad one are mastering your autoattacks. Ashe's Volley procs Cheap Shot and Imperial Mandate, but these bonuses have a very low cooldown of six seconds. Keeping these up with your autoattacks while you wait for your Volley to come back up in the midgame will cause your damage to skyrocket. Keep your cooldowns rolling, and your winrate will skyrocket.
- As a continuation of the last point, Ashe has an autoattack range of 600, one of the longest in the entire game. Abuse this, especially if enemies are hiding behind minions and you can't Volley them.
- You can take Oracle Lens directly out of base if you feel confident in using Hawkshot. This is huge for you and your ADC, as you can hide out of vision and spam Volley with very little hope of getting caught out, if they can't see you.
- For early All-Ins, you will most likely deal just as much damage as, if not more than, your lane partner. Abuse this, and play early before your early bases, because Ashe is weakest at levels 3-5.
- If your ADC isn't a complete moron, your Enchanted Crystal Arrow should be used almost exclusively to peel for them in the lategame, when you can actually kill them.
- /mute all, you're playing Ashe Support. If you don't want to do this because you enjoy pain, you can mute people on a case-by-case basis by typing their name after an @, like so; /mute @draven | This allows you to mute people with stupid names, like IlIlIIlIllIIIlI or something.
