Why Should I Play Ahri?
Ahri, the Nine-Tailed Fox, is arguably one of the most beloved and recognized champions within the League of Legends mid-lane pool. This charming heroine offers a balance between charm, mobility, and burst damage—she is a versatile champion who is as much fun to play as she is capable in the hands of a new player and an experienced player alike. Think of picking up Ahri into your pool of champions? Here are some reasons that prove she may be the perfect fit.
First off, Ahri has amazing offensive and defensive balance in her kit, making her a more versatile pick in any match-up. Her most famous ability, the Orb of Deception, is a multi-faceted tool that deals damage when going out and back. This helps her poke and wave clear with the true damage component on its way back, which enables her to successfully deal with tankier opponents. Since this is combined with her Fox-Fire (W), it gives Ahri very strong wave-clear and poke, allowing her to control the mid lane with more ease and pressure the enemies.
Another reason Ahri is fun to play is due to her great mobility. Her ultimate, Spirit Rush, gives her three quick dashes that allow her to engage or retreat from team fights easily, offering her a nice amount of flexibility. With this high mobility, Ahri will be a very slippery champion whom it will be hard for opponents to pin down. In addition, this will give her the ability to make major plays across the map by roaming into other lanes for kills or basically helping teammates easily.
Another strong point of Ahri is her charmed, Charm (E); this ability isn't just a crowd control but also enables the damage coming off from other abilities when it hits. This means an enemy champion gives Ahri major combo potential—specifically, when she catches one out with a Charm and can rapidly follow up with other abilities to surge them down. What this means is that she is an extreme threat in the mid lane, particularly against squishy targets, and generally an effective punisher of enemies out of position.
On top of the strong laning phase and great mobility, Ahri is generally pretty solid for team fights. Her ability to engage enemies from multiple angles, Charm them, then quickly reposition to a safe location makes her very strong in coordinated team fights. Whether that means diving into the back line to take out a carry or peeling for her allies with crowd control, Ahri's flexibility makes her adapt to what her team needs in any circumstance.
One of the other reasons many players like to play Ahri is that her theme is very appealing. She has a nice design and lore; she really captures being a suave, deadlier fox spirit. Her elegant animations, beautiful visual effects, and a variety of skin options allow for a champion who is more than fun to play, but also lovely to look at. Ahri offers a very captivating experience to players—graceful, powerful. Overall, in an exciting mixture of high mobility, burst damage, and crowd control, Ahri becomes exceptionally strong and diversified for the mid-lane role. She is able to easily handle opponents, roam well, and participate in team fights, persistently being an asset throughout the game. Ahri is a champion that provides both gameplay and flair, whether you're a new player trying to get a feel for a more well-rounded champion or an advanced player looking to master her intricacies.
