This champion performs very well against Brand thanks to his great gap closing ability and high burst damage. Avoid getting hit by his chains and focus on maintaining good spacing. Use your W+E or Q+E on the wave to poke and keep him at a distance. Once you complete Rylai’s, the matchup swings significantly in your favor.
Yasuo
Extremely boring matchup for you. His passive makes it hard for Brand to do what he does best as it practically negates the W+E or Q+E combo on the wave. Try to bait his passive out with a basic attack before you cast any spells, hold onto at least two of your spells with one always being your Q so you can stun him if he tries to engage. Once you've completed Rylai's the matchup becomes much easier and you are actually able to compete.
Twisted Fate
He can't win against you, you always win no matter what. Period.
Syndra
She outranges Brand and can bully you before you have Rylai’s if you struggle to dodge her spells. Once you complete Rylai’s, however, one mistake on her part can quickly cost her her life.
Annie
Watch out for her 4 stacks Flash+R as she will stun you and one shot you. Otherwise you heavily outrange her and she can't do anything.
Xerath
Like Syndra, this champion can be a nuisance due to high burst damage and range advantage. He struggles with mana early, so poking him won’t be difficult. Once he builds mana items, he becomes stronger than you. After you complete Rylai’s, if he misses his E (stun), you can punish him and easily secure a kill.
Zed
He can be tough to play against due to his W+Q spam, but if you avoid it or stay behind minions, the matchup is manageable. Be especially cautious after level 6, as he can easily kill you. Save your E+Q or R+Q for when he uses his ultimate, do not use your R beforehand, as it will disappear along with him.
Fizz
If you struggle with spacing or aren’t familiar with Fizz’s kit, this matchup can be very difficult. Watch out for his E and W dash, and maintain your distance. Do not use your Q or R before he uses his W, as it will simply miss.
Akali
You’ll generally have an easy time against her pre-6. Just back off when she uses Shroud and you’ll be fine. After level 6, however, she can kill you with ease, so play carefully. Try to have your passive applied before she casts Shroud, as that will give you vision of her. Hold onto your Q and don’t miss the stun—it’s often the deciding factor between winning or losing the fight. Like most champions in this category, once you complete Rylai’s you’ll have a real fighting chance.
Anivia
You win the matchup pre-6, but after that you should focus on farming safely from a distance and avoid getting caught. Without any dash or escape tools, there’s not much you can do against her once she has her ultimate.
Vex
You hard-win pre-6. After she hits level 6, avoid getting caught by her ultimate and you’ll still win most fights. Completing Rylai’s completely swings this matchup in your favor if you play it correctly.
Ryze
He can’t do much against you in lane since your poke and range are far more reliable. Don't stay to close to your wave and watch out for his point-and-click slow or stun—he’ll usually look for it when you’re overextended and his jungler is nearby, which can easily get you killed.
LeBlanc
Her limited mana pool early on works in your favor, letting you harass her pre-6. Once she gets mana items and hits level 6, though, she can easily close the gap and play around your poke. Her dash recast makes it nearly impossible to follow up on her engages, so your best bet is to play safe and punish mistakes. Rylai’s is a crucial spike here, as it lets you and your jungler capitalize on any mispositioning on her end.
Kalista
She’s one of the few ADCs you’ll likely struggle against. Her excessive dashes make it very difficult to land your spells consistently.
Hecarim
If you get caught out of position, there’s little you can do against him. Focus on playing safe and not overextending, don’t give him the chance to snowball the game. Work around your stun, but be careful, if he buffers it with his E or ultimate, he can gap-close and completely negate your escape.
Lux
Whether you face her as a support or mid-laner, the approach is similar: poke and harass her more than she does to you. Be especially cautious of her Q, try to predict her E to avoid being hit, and always trade back if she lands a spell. Very much a skill matchup.
Hwei
This matchup is similar to Lux. He has a wide array of abilities you need to be aware of to dodge effectively. If you’re good at avoiding skill shots, this matchup shouldn’t be too difficult.
Qiyana
Qiyana can be one of Brand’s hardest mid-lane matchups. Watch out for her River Element, which she will most commonly use. She uses it to root you and follow up for an easy Electrocute proc. Level 6 becomes even more dangerous. The key is to always be aware of which element she’s using and the distance she needs to close, spacing is crucial.
Diana
Her ultimate can be a great setup for you if she catches multiple enemies, practically guaranteeing a won fight.
Nami
Nami’s E works exceptionally well with Brand in the APC role. Using your W+E or Q+E combos on the wave allows you to reliably bully most ADCs with poke.
Blitzcrank
Brand’s poke on APC helps create space for Blitz. Once Blitz lands a hook on the ADC, it’s usually a guaranteed full combo for you, often resulting in a free kill.
Orianna
Orianna's ultimage, like Diana's provides a great set-up for Brand and almost always guarantees a won fight.
Leona
"Leona, like Blitz, benefits in lane from Brand’s extensive poke and harass, which allows her to move more freely. Her level 6 power spike and chained CC work extremely well with Brand, enabling him to land a full combo that almost always guarantees a kill.
