Teemo is probably the biggest threat to Volibear. This is a guaranteed win for Teemo every time unless he has no clue what he his doing. If you want any hope, your best effort is trying to kill Teemo pre-6. Post-6 Teemo will invade your lane with mushrooms and is basically a win for Teemo at that point.

Ranked Play
All I can really say for Ranked play is that Volibear isn't a go to top laner. I have played about 30 games of ranked with Volibear and I have found that 9 times out of 10, the opposing top laner always seems to counter it. If your team is in desparate need of a tank, however, Volibear might be a good choice for you. Just be mindful of who you are going up against and play either passive or aggressive based on who it is.
