Champion Build Guide

Carry As Midlane LeBlanc Guide (13.21)

By Arameria
Introduction
Hey Everyone!

Glad you guys have taken the time to take a look at my LeBlanc guide, My name is Arameria and I live in the Netherlands. I've been playing League of Legends since the end of Season 2. I always played countless normals with my friends and found my way into the Midlane/ADC role through there. Even though I play almost every champion by now, there is one champion that always (apart from the rework) stood out for me. I'll give you one guess.... LeBlanc!

After investing a lot of time in watching videos and streams and reading guides on how to play this deceiving woman, I found my way into her mechanics and combo's and am ready to take them out on the rift for some ranked experiences which can be seen on my stream here!

Also check out my youtube for more content!
Why is it that you main LeBlanc?
I remember when I first started out playing midlane, I was playing versus my cousin who always picked LeBlanc against me, I chased him through the jungle every time and was searching every bush for him, but he always was one step ahead of me. Now that I've mastered those LeBlanc skills myself I found out why this is such a great pleasure, not only are you able to stomp your lane really hard, you can also make your opponents so tilted by juking them all around the map that they won't even want to play against you anymore. (I don't even say this to joke around, I've seen enemies tell me that in my games.)

Also it gives an insane rush to be super fed on LeBlanc because you still have to be strategic and think 2 steps ahead because of your squishy HP bar.

In my opinion her kit is one of the strongest and hardest kits in all of the game to master and that makes her a champion that can make you or break you in any elo.
Why am I making this guide?
Basically, I want other people to feel what I feel when I play LeBlanc, The rush that I get when people are chasing me, the epic 1v1 duels, the long road to really master this champion. I worked my way through Silver and a little more than halfway through Gold now and I'm having SO much fun with this champion on the rift. Every match there is something new to learn and I feel that, even though my rank isn't that high, I can learn a lot of people how to have the same fun with LeBlanc as I do.

I also think making a guide will be easier for the people that follow me on twitch with questions about LeBlanc, since I do not always have the time to be online and answer!
(If you want to you can follow me here!)

I've started to do youtube montages lately on plays that me and my team-mates made, hope you enjoy the content!

Summoner Spells

Ignite

LeBlanc has an insane amount of kill pressure, not only does ignite help you finish off your opponents, it can also be usefull to apply grievious wounds or true sight over your enemies for 5 seconds. 90% of the time you will want pick this.

Flash

Always take this, it's super overpowered, who wouldn't want another free blink right?

Teleport

If you take Teleport it must mean you want to splitpush, LeBlanc does not push fast and is better off killing enemies that are isolated from the team. I'd only see Teleport being played in Pro Play because of the need to join the team in a split second, in solo queue this will never go this fast, which makes it so that you can get to the fight in time!

Exhaust

I'd recommend this summoner spell to everyone who is not familiar with LeBlanc yet or just started learning her, take Exhaust instead of Ignite so your lane will be safer and you can learn your mechanics and last hits before you go for the all-in flash plays.

Abilities

Mirror Image

When LeBlanc drops below 40% health, she becomes invisible for 1 second and creates a Mirror Image that deals no damage and lasts for up to 8 seconds. This Mirror Image can be controlled by holding the ALT-key and pressing your right mouse button.

Mirror Image has a 1 minute cooldown.
Great for escapes! also makes sure you can almost never be bursted 100 to 0, try to be as calm as possible in the 1 second that you have, I know it's really short, but sometimes even a little change can make a big difference.

Here's a perfect example of how to humiliate even the greatest players of the world if you keep a clear head!

Sigil of Malice

Range: 700
Cooldown: 6 Cost: 50
LeBlanc projects a sigil to an enemy, dealing 65 / 90 / 115 / 140 / 165 (+40% of ability power) magic damage and marking them for 3.5 seconds. Damaging the marked enemy with an ability detonates the sigil, dealing the same magic damage again.

If either part kills the target, Leblanc refunds 100% of the mana cost and 30% of the this spell's remaining cooldown.

The initial sigil deals an additional 10-146 magic damage to minions.

Sigil of Malice is great for setting up combo's!

Distortion

Range: 600
Cooldown: 18 / 16 / 14 / 12 / 10 Cost: 60 / 70 / 80 / 90 / 100
LeBlanc dashes then deals 75 / 115 / 155 / 195 / 235 (+60% of ability power) magic damage to nearby enemies. For 4 seconds after dashing, LeBlanc can Recast.

Recast: LeBlanc returns to her starting location.
Distortion makes LeBlanc great for roaming through the Rift because it provides major mobility and can be used to jump over almost every wall! (and back!)

Ethereal Chains

Range: 865
Cooldown: 14 / 13.25 / 12.5 / 11.75 / 11 Cost: 50
LeBlanc launches a chain that shackles the first enemy hit, dealing 50 / 70 / 90 / 110 / 130 (+30% of ability power) magic damage and granting true sight. If they remain shackled for 1.5 seconds, roots them for 1.5 seconds and deals an additional 80 / 120 / 160 / 200 / 240 (+70% of ability power) magic damage.

Ethereal Chains is your only form of Crowd Control! Use with Caution.

Mimic

Cooldown: 50 / 40 / 30
LeBlanc casts a mimicked version of her most recently used basic ability, applying the same effects and dealing modified magic damage.

Mimic Sigil of Malice:
Range: 700
Cooldown: 50 / 40 / 30
LeBlanc projects a sigil to an enemy, dealing 70 / 140 / 210 (+40% of ability power) magic damage and marking them for 3.5 seconds.

Mimic Distortion:
Range: 600
Cooldown: 60 / 45 / 30
LeBlanc dashes then deals 150 / 300 / 450 (+75% of ability power) magic damage to nearby enemies. For 4 seconds after dashing, LeBlanc can Recast.

Recast: LeBlanc returns to her starting location.

Mimic Ethereal Chains:
Range: 865
Cooldown: 60 / 45 / 30
LeBlanc launches a chain that shackles the first enemy hit, dealing 70 / 140 / 210 (+40% of ability power) magic damage and granting true sight. If they remain shackled for 1.5 seconds, roots them for 1.5 seconds and deals an additional 140 / 280 / 420 (+80% of ability power) magic damage.

Items
I am still working on a new build for LeBlanc for season 13! WIP
Combo's
Now that you've gotten a bit familiar with LeBlanc her kit, it's time to mix things up and make it interesting!

In my opinion LeBlanc has four combo's that all work in a different situation. I've given them my own names and will give you an explanation what the use is of every combo and when you should use it.

First, The Standard Ambush Max Damage Combo!

Combo order: E+Q+R+W(+ Ignite)

This combo is best used on enemies that stand or walk close to you, it's your maximum single target damage output and can easily blow up a carry, sometimes even when you are behind in gold.
Stay in a bush and make sure it is not warded, or make sure you land your Ethereal Chains first! If the enemy does not have flash or a gapcloser to escape, you can follow up with your Sigil of Malice and Mimic, if the enemy hasn't died by then, follow up with an Distortion and maybe even Ignite To finish them off!

Second, Chain Combo!

Combo Order: Q+E+R+Q+W

This Combo provides you with the cc needed to get away from one or two enemies whilst still outputting some damage, start by using Sigil of Malice and Ethereal Chains as fast as possible, after your Ethereal Chains root your enemy, use Mimic for a second chain, most of the times, your Sigil of Malice will be back up, so if the second chain hits, use your Sigil of Malice to get a lot of damage off, If you are chasing an enemy and it is still alive, you can follow up with a Distortion to finish the enemy off, if you are the one that's being chased, you can use Distortion to get away. ALWAYS wait for your chains to root the enemy that is chasing you before you Distortion away though, because it might be lost damage and mana!

Third, Backline Dive Combo!

Combo Order: W+R+Q+E(+W/R)

This is your main teamfighting combo, you will want to dive past the frontline and jump straight on a carry, the first Distortion will be used as a gapcloser to get closer to the target, in a teamfight, try to hit as many people with this WITHOUT getting CC'ed, so do not be greedy, as you will 100% fail this combo if you get CC'ed early and lose half of your escapes. After you used your first Distortion to close the distance, you will want to Mimic ON the target you want to kill, this is very important since it provides you with some much needed damage to oneshot the target. When you land on the target use your Sigil of Malice followed up by Ethereal Chains as quickly as possible. about 7 out of 10 times you will kill the squishy target you were aiming for, which can totally turn around a teamfight. How do you get out you ask? This is a really quick combo, you want to get in and out in not more then 2 seconds, which means you can return to your Distortion and Mimic! Try to check where the least enemies are and return there, which will give you the most chance to not get caught by the frontline and spend that juicy gold you've just got!

Fourth, All-in Combo!

Combo Order: W+Q+R+E(+W)

This is the safest way to duel an enemy, since you can use it from a longer distance, it's all about using your Distortion effectively. There are two ways of using your Distortion here, either use it to go for the kill, which means you hit the enemy with it. Or use it to poke, which means you use it to get closer to the enemy. (After 2 items you mostly won't need Distortion to hit squishies for a kill, the rest is enough.) After you have used Distortion to get close or into your enemy, follow up with a really quick Sigil of Malice, Mimic, Ethereal Chains combo and then return to safety by pressing your Distortion again. If you use this combo effectively in lane, you can, most of the times, be able to either oneshot your opponent, or at least burst him for about 60/70 percent of it's HP!
