Hello summoners !
This guide is written entirely from my point of view and based on my experiences. I have fluctuated between 90 LP diamond 2 account and plat 5 smurf, I played a lot of Cassiopeia in the past and in the present season.
I`ll try to add all the match-ups as the guide progresses but right now I will focus on the most essential ones. Let me also say that you can carry yourself to diamond with Cass, it`s really easy, if you follow the guide.
The many Pros and Few Cons of Cassiopeia
Cassiopeia is a very fun champion
She is not limited to one specific build
She doesn't require a lot of AP to deal a lot of damage
She has an AOE stun with a long duration
Is very difficult to play well
Requires smartcast to get the most out of her abilities
Difficult Early Game
The runes that i used are pretty straightforward.
Magic Penetration Marks and Quints help increase the damage output of your early game by a landslide.
The Mana Regen Seals are hopefully self explainable since you are playing Cassiopeia.
The extra ability power from Quints and Glpyhs at early game makes it easier for you to farm using your skills and lets you grab an easy first blood.
Greater Mark of Magic Penetration-These are pretty much the only marks to use on any Ability Power Champion. I do not suggest you use anything else.
Greater Seal of Armor-These are probably the best runes of its class. It will add some survivability to our build.
greater seal of vitality-The late game HP you will receive will help a lot, so these are also a good choice.
greater seal of replenishment-These are the flat mana regen seals. Overall, Greater Seal of Scaling Mana Regeneration is the best bang for the buck and has better performance.
Greater Glyph of Scaling Ability Power-Excellent runes and can be used. However, i really like the extra early game AP without having to buy a Doran's Ring.
Greater Glyph of Cooldown Reduction- Since we do not buy any CDR items, these runes are very good. So they are a good alternative.
Greater Quintessence of Movement Speed- Movement speed is always a good plus.
Greater Quintessence of Ability Power- Taking all three of these quints is also a very good idea. The downside is its expensiveness.
Greater Mark of Ability Power
Grants fantastic ability power early game assisting in sustain to champions especially when using combos such as Miasma then following up with two ( Noxious Blast then Twin Fang) in rapid succession (or spamming) constantly aiming for the target or zoning them to make farming more simple without the threat of being attacked.
Greater Quintessence of Ability Power
This will greatly increase the sustain and allow for more ability power to damage the enemy from Twin Fang when constantly spamming in team fights.
Greater Seal of Armor
This will assist in the survivability needed very early to avoid being taken down by high base damage champions with high attack speed or being ganked early when invading enemies buffs.
Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist
This rune supplies Cassiopeia with a generous amount of magic resist late game giving her a better chance to build an item with more ability power then magic resist so she can take more damage from AP reliant champions such as Ryze
Other option :
21 OFFENSE 9 into Defense or Utility

Q: IS THIS BUILD EFFECTIVE ON CASSIOPEIA?
// The build that is shown is helpful to adegree but during a game it all depends on how the game has progressed. but only in circumstances where the team you are playing with have not fed or do not understand the meta of a game.
You want Flash and barrier (help you get fb +survive ults, turret dmg) ideally. However, if you are having a hard time landing your skill shots Exhaust might be right for you! Ghost combined with your Noxious Blast gives you super chasing abilities and a getaway.
Flash is a must. Useful for escaping, gap closing to secure a kill and avoiding executing skill shots. Flash is a must and a great utility, most commonly taken on near on every champ.
Ignite is a very handy skill to have available when securing a kill. Also helps when trading against champs that have rapid heals and will always deal true damage however timing is essential.
Exhaust is a nice summoner spell to have when chasing down high mobility champs that try to escape from you when you are attempting to deliver the killing blow. Most overlook this spell and underestimate it's utility.
Teleport is an incredibly versatile summoner spell which enables the player to return very quickly back to the lane to get that juicy CS. In can also aid in ganking in the most unpredictable ways as well as escaping a doomed fate when over-extending or split pushing.
Noxious Blast - Cassiopeia blasts an area with a delayed high damage poison, granting her increased Movement Speed if she hits a champion.
Cassiopeia blasts an area with a delayed high damaging poison, dealing 75/115/155/195/235 (+0.9) magic damage over 3 seconds and granting her 15/17.5/20/22.5/25% Movement Speed for 3 seconds if she hits a champion.
This skill is what makes Cassiopeia such a good laner. This spell has great range and a very low mana cost. The fact that you are able to spam this skill to harass or farm makes it favorable to max first. The extra speed boost you get when you hit a champion is so potent when chasing or running away from the enemy. Note: Use this skill to check bushes, you will get a speed boost if you hit an enemy in the bush.
Miasma - Cassiopeia releases a cloud of poison, lightly damaging and slowing any enemy that happens to pass through it.
Cassiopeia releases a growing cloud of poison that lasts for 7 seconds. Any enemy that passes through it is poisoned for 2 seconds, dealing 25/35/45/55/65 (+0.15) magic damage each second and slowing them by 15/20/25/30/35%. Continual exposure renews this poison.
Miasma is Cassiopeia's least damaging spell. It is more of a utility spell. The slow from Miasma coupled with the speed from Noxious Blast is what makes Cassiopeia so incredibly deadly. There are a variety of ways to use this spell:
Your main combo (DUH)
To farm (Q+E= entire wave of caster minions dead)
To zone (you can push people away from their minions with this spell, so you are able to zone without putting yourself in harm.
Twin Fang - Cassiopeia lets loose a damaging attack at her target. If the target is poisoned the cooldown of this spell is refreshed.
Cassiopeia deals 60/95/130/165/200 (+0.55) magic damage to her target. If the target is poisoned then Twin Fang's cooldown is reduced to 0.5 seconds.
Twin Fang is Cassiopeia's constant damage. Make sure you hit Noxious Blast or Miasma before using it. Do not try to spam this skill during your laning phase or you will run out of mana very quickly. Make sure you focus the "Top Priority Enemy" with this spell.
Petrifying Gaze - Cassiopeia releases a swirl of magical energy from her eyes, stunning any enemies in front of her that are facing her and slowing any others with their back turned.
Cassiopeia deals 200/325/450 (+0.6) magic damage to all enemies in front of her. Enemies facing her are stunned for 2 seconds while enemies facing away are slowed by 60%.
This is one of the best ultimates in the game. Petrifying Gaze scares the **** out of your enemy. You can play some serious mind games with this skill because the enemy team won't know when you are planning to use it. I will go more in-depth on how to use this skill in a later chapter
Deadly Cadence(Passive) - After casting a spell any subsequent spellcasts will cost 10% less for 5 seconds. This ability stacks up to 5 times.
This is one of those passives that you don't really notice and is taken for granted. It helps you a lot during laning phase, allowing you to abuse your Noxious Blast or your Twin Fang.
OPTION ONE (RANDOM)
This item will assist in the chasing down of slowed enemies with an increase of movement speed, also during fights enemy's will receive more damage due to giving a higher chance to penetrate through the enemies magic resistance making the damage from Cassiopeia skills deal more.
This item Liandry's Torment is very useful for clearing large minion waves very quickly dealing about 100 ability power per 1-3 seconds and burning the enemy or there minions, making it a reliable item for clearing minion waves. This item also gives a decent amount of health and also ability power making it one of the core items for a Cassiopeia build.
WHAT NEEDS TO BE SAID, This item Rabadon's Deathcap is used to greatly change any team fight the ability power of the champion will increase as well as the passive on the item will increase the ability power of the champ will rise again.
This item is used to greatly enhance the ability power that can change a team fight drastically, The active that is used on this item is very useful, During team fights as well as to avoid taking large amounts of damage by becoming invincible, ONE OF THE IMPORTANT ACTIVES IN THIS BUILD
This item has a reasonable amount of health and has ability power that has a base amount. an extra advantage to this item is that magic, health and mana will increase on the stats on the item. The more the mana type skills are used the more ability power and health is stacked.
