Introduction
This guide is for 1 reason and 1 reason only. To help all you Morgana players beat the piss out of AD Mids. I am specifically thinking of Talon, Zed, and Kha-Zix. There are also some Pantheon and J4 mids, but this guide is really to give you a base for fighting those top 3 common AD mid picks.
I am a silver level player, but play loads of Morgana. I came up with this alternative strategy and build because I kept getting beat down by common AD Mid matchups.
Basically Morgana is not a burst champ, so I tend to harass the ad champs and make sure I can trade against them. To do that I get very defensive runes. Quints(Big Ones) and Seals(Yellow) are flat armor, Glyphs(Blue) I get MR per level, and Marks(Red) I get magic pen.
Precision
Fleet Footwork
Phase Rush
I need as much flat armor as possible or I can't trade with these guys. I also need as much mana regen as possible, but this happens via my utility tree mastery choices as well as well as my early items being for mana regen.

// You have to have some attack or you'll do no dmg to start, but utility help you to harass for days gain life and take advantage of blue.
Q: What about other masteries options? // The only other one I use is a 15/15/0 rune page that allows me to get more defense and health vs the AD champ. I don't use it often but it has been effective against really ad heavy team comps. |
OPT 1
This is the easiest item to finish, but if you are already getting fed via assists or kills, I would start building tanky(OPT 2) or damage(OPT 3) first.
OPT 2
I love this for pumping up the damage. This really helps my team
OPT 3
Sometime this needs to be the second AP item I get so I can live vs assassin style champs that wreck my day. It is also really useful to help me live while I get in and fire my ult off.

Only 10% of my games are normal game types. This is a all about how to deal with these champs in ranked play. Higher Ranked players may just consider this the "basics" when playing vs an AD mid, but feel free to comment.
Disclaimer: Morgana is not a bursty champ that gets that last hit all the time and gets you fed off kills. She is made to make your team awesome and get tonnes of assists. When you do get ahead you end up catching and killing the enemy team again and again. A typical score would be 6/2/20 with my play style.
My play style is to push them to their turret if possible and keep them there to deny farm. This could be very problematic if their jungler ganks, but if you back of while your shield is on cooldown you can deal with most junglers as they can no longer stun or slow you. This takes experience and trial and error to learn. Understanding the abilities of the opposing champ and monitoring how much mana or energy they have can be key to knowing if you are vulnerable to a gank. If you are (back off), farm your own jungle, or go buy some wards and blue pots. I can't stress enough that map awareness and having that sense of when to back off is critical. When I get ganked at level 3-4 I try to burst down the jungler and even use my ignite to take them as low as possible. The goal being to protect my other lanes more than to make my mid easier to deal with.
HARASS:
This is in bold because I want you to harass the hell out of them I will often save my tormented soil until after my minions are low so that if they come to damage them the tormented soil will get a couple ticks on them. Notice that I don't use my q in this scenario. It takes up too much mana. I want to push the lane as I can so their turret steals kills and so I can repeatedly cast tormented soil as they try to farm. The build has lots of mana regen and lots of blue pots repeatedly bought. I don't buy reds unless way behind because my passive allows me to regenerate and take better advantage of by blue pot to heal as well.

THIS SECTION STILL NEEDS TO BE UPGRADED
Don't pick your first skill until you are sure you are not being invaded. Upon invade that you CAN defend choose the dark binding(Q), otherwise your normal start is Tormented Soil(W).
Start with WQQEQR if you are not too worried about the jungler's ganks.
Start with WQEQQR if you are worried about the jungler's ganks and don't want to play passive. The early E will save you from a stun or slow for certain death.
Q is the dark binding
W is tormented soil
E is the black shield
Q is soul shackles
