With Ahri it all come down to her landing her Charm, if she can do that, just about anyone that's not tanky as hell will go down. Dodge her Charm and her poke and this lane should be pretty easy.
Akali
This lane should be extra easy. When she tries to poke with her Q, you poke harder, make her pay time and a half for each engage she tries.
Anivia
Pre-6, the lane should be yours, post-6, you might have some issues. Avoid the stun ult combo and you should be able to burst her down relatively easily.
Annie
Annie will be a difficult lane for you. She can out poke and distance you. Pre-6 will be a struggle, post-6, time everything right and you should win with you ult.
Azir
A GOOD Azir player will be hell, his range is a natural counter to Ekko, his escape as well. Just farm and try and stay safe until 6, after that you'll have better odds of winning an all in.
Brand
Brand is another difficult champion. He has no mobility but his burst is insane. You'll need to get ahead early if you want to do well in lane.
Cassiopeia
Cass has 5 miles of personal space and just doesn't want you to come in. Her zoning ability is insane with her poisons and Twin Fangs. Avoid poisons at all costs and just farm until you can gain an advantage.
Cho'Gath
Ahhhhh, the Cho'gath mid. Avoid his Q and you will win every time. Just to note, watch for his sustain in lane, as it will be slightly better than your own if you don't manage well.
Diana
I'm giving Diana an 8 simply because, in my mind, Ekko is a slightly modified version of Diana. If she gets the upper hand, it'll be difficult, and you'll find yourself using your ult simply to stay alive instead of doing damage. However, your early game is stronger than hers exponentially, use that to your advantage and take the lead.
Ekko
As with any mirror, it comes down to a skill match-up, position and poke better than your opponent and you will win.
Ezreal
Ezreal is a highly mobile champion with high poke. Avoid his poke and time your engage after he uses his E and you'll do fine.
Fiddlesticks
Fiddle mid, in my mind, doesnt work, unless the person playing Fiddle has a very high skill cap and the opposing player is relatively new. He's squishy as hell and will be easy to kill after a couple well placed Q's.
Fizz
Fizz, highly mobile and good poke. Will be another match-up of skill. Avoid his ult though you should win most engages post 6.
Galio
Galio gets a 10 simply because hes the anti-mage tank. Build a Void Staff early on if you get this lane.
Gragas
I'm giving Graggy here a four, assuming he builds AP, you will have a field day with him. If he goes tanky, he'll be harder to kill, but less of a threat. If he does go tanky, get an early Void Staff and possibly an Abyssal if needed.
Heimerdinger
Heimerdinger, second as a lane bully only to Mordekaiser. Take care of his turrets early on with a couple Q+E combos and you'll severely reduce the amount of farm he can get. Once he gets his Zhonyas, beware going all in, and be ready to ult if you do.
Janna
Enjoy the feed.
Jayce
While Jayce mid is rare, it can happen. Avoid the ranged poke and try and out trade him should he go in while in melee mode. Once you get ahead he should be an easy kill.
Karma
Avoid her Q and bind and you can't lose. Shes squishy early on and should be an easy lane.
Karthus
Karthus's zone control is almost as good as Cass's. Avoid the Q's that come up every second and watch the walls and when you all in, make sure you have an escape, killing him or no you might need it.
Kassadin
Enjoy the feed. Just don't let him get any kind of lead on you, because if the Kass gets fed, this 1 can go to a 9-10 real quick.
Katarina
A good Kat will make you work for your lane, but you should win, as your poke has the potential to be better than hers. And keep in mind, you DO have the power to stop her ult, it just takes some intuition and planning to make it work. I.e if you see your team bunched up and kat coming in, maybe drop you W in the middle of the team, and get ready to stun, if nothing else you'll get a shield for a couple of seconds.
Kennen
Kennen's who can play the range game and kite will be the bane of our existence. Early on, you should be fine, but once he gets a Zhonya's, it'll be rough.
Kog'Maw
Another champion who's zoning is really nice, however he is slow, and a few well placed pokes and he should be an easy kill.
LeBlanc
LeBlanc gets a 10 simply because if the LeBlanc player is good, he will out poke and possibly out farm you. If you don't feed and CS well, this lane can be won. Just dont get exploded, and use your ult well. Abyssal here is highly recommended.
Lissandra
Avoid her poke and poke her harder. She'll be hard to kill because good Lissandra's will be very mobile. Timing your engage after she uses her Glacial Path will give you better odds of getting a kill or a flash out of her.
Lulu
Don't underestimate the Lulu, but dont get cocky either, should be an easy lane, just be careful of gank's as she'll buff the mess out of her jungler.
Lux
Her binds make her a problem, but dodging those will make for an easy lane. Just poke when you can and the all in should get the kill.
Malphite
He's tanky and has a decent guranteed hit poke, but runs out of mana fast. Your poke has the potential to be better if you can land it. An Abyssal or Void Staff early on is recommended.
Malzahar
His zone and poke is insane, and once he hits 6, its gonna be even harder as you cannot ult while stunned. Get ahead early on with good CS or ganks from your jungler and you'll do fine later on.
Mordekaiser
A good Mord with spell vamp will give you trouble. Honestly, hes a pretty decent counter to Ekko, take ignite and you can win if you time everything right. The good news is most Mord's go top lane.
Morgana
Avoid the binds and Aoe and you'll do fine in this lane.
Nidalee
For Nidalee, it honestly depends on her skill cap. A good Nid will give you hell in lane. If you get a bad Nid that cannot land spears, this 8 goes to a 2 and you'll win most if not all engages.
Orianna
Ori has a pretty decent skill cap as well, and he zoning and range make her hard to lane against. Avoid her ball and CS and you'll do fine.
Ryze
Ryze is troublesome because he can bind you in place without much effort and burst you down before you've a chance to move. Play it save and try and out poke him.
Sona
Sona can out-sustain you in lane, and her Q's pack a mean punch. Her ult can also be the bane of your existence if landed during a gank. Play it safe and CS and come later in the game, you'll one shot her.
Soraka
Enjoy the feed.
Swain
As with Mord, Swain can sustain and deal massive damage. Don't get rooted and avoid the combos and ask for help, you're going to need it.
Syndra
Her range is annoying as all hell. she can stun and burst. However shes a mana ***** and once shes oom shes fairly easy to kill. Time your engages well and this lane wont be as bad as you think.
Talon
You can out-poke him and out trade him on most occasions, Time everything right and every time he tries to trade with you, you will come out on top.
Teemo
Ahh the Teemo. Other than his Blind and posion hes squishy. Early on might be his lane, but come level 6, his as good as dead.
Twisted Fate
Twisted Fate has excellent ranged capabilities as well as up close and personal. His Q is a powerful poke and his gold card can make engages hard. Just remember he is still a mage and therefore squishy as hell.
Urgot
Urgot mid... Avoid his E+Q combo and you'll do fine in this lane. He's an ADC at the end of the day, and squishy.
Veigar
Veigar...... The laning phase pre-6 is easy and you will and should win. Post-6, you'll still do fine, just dont let him catch you with low health and his ult.
Vel'Koz
Vel has good zone control, he can be difficult to all in as he has a stun and a barrage of spells that if all hit would blow anyone up, time your engages on his cool downs and just be better at geometry than he is and you'll be ok.
Viktor
Viktor can be a difficult lane. His poke is excellent and his ability to kite is pretty decent. Just out poke him and hope for a good all in. Post-6, he shouldn't be a problem unless you get one shotted.
Vladimir
Vlad will be a hard lane. A good Vlad will get a Spirit Visage and a Will of the Ancients early and fast. His Sustain is a lot better than yours and he has a solid escape.
Xerath
His range makes him a natural counter to Ekko, this will be a rough lane. An Abyssal is very recommended.
Yasuo
Again, a skill type match up. You should win the early game and if you do well and avoid the Q+ult combo, you will beat him every time.
Zed
Zed is the AD equivalent of you in lane. High damage poke, an escape and a heavy hitting ult. However, once you get your ult, he wont be as much of a problem. Just do not feed him early on.
Ziggs
Ziggs has good enough zoning to make people who struggle with positioning a threat. However, if you're good at dodging and positioning, this lane will be fairly easy.
Zilean
Enjoy the feed. Just dont get stunned.
Zyra
Zyra has a lot of CC and burst potential. Though your poke and burst are better than hers and if you can time things right you will win your engages.
Ekko is a burst assassin much like Diana or LeBlanc and while relatively easy to play, has a high skill cap. You must be able to position yourself and manage your cool downs properly to ensure success in lane.
Pros / Cons
Pros / Cons
Pro's
High Damage
High Mobility
Easy to Farm
Easy to Play
Cons's
High Skill Cap
Hard to catch-up if behind
Expensive build
Farming
Farming
Farming with Ekko is easy. Simply use your Q for the dual purpose of poking the enemy laner, and to hit as many minions you can on the way out and in, this will apply two stacks of your Z-drive, which then coupled with one auto should make short work of most minions. I like to save my E as an escape or to trade with my opponent and try to avoid using it to farm.
Team Work
Team Work
Playing as Ekko can be a ton of fun 1v1 in lane, but when you go into team-fights things can get hectic. Ekko needs to dance on the edge of battle poking with his Q until an engager on your team takes the initiative and goes in. Once the fight is engage you want to drop your W where most of the enemy champions are located and then E to that location to stun as many of the enemy as you can and to gain a shield. Lastly, try and make sure that your ult is located amongst some of the enemy before you use it, to maximize the heal you'll gain as well as the damage output. At the end of the day, it comes down to how well positioned you are at the start of the fight and how well you can get your ult positioned before you need to pop it.
Creeping / Jungling
Creeping / Jungling
For those of you who plan to jungle with Ekko, if you've played Diana, its similar to that. His early game is slow, but once you hit level 4 you'll be fine. Start off with your W on the camp, then Q and E in, by then the stun/shield will have applied and the mob should be close to dead.
