When I was browsing Voli guides, I thought to myself, why is he built ap and using grasp when he could just go ad and lethal tempo to utilize his Q, W, R and passive?
He has good ad scaling, and is honestly scary when he hits so fast. Also the ult is intimidating for the enemy team when it deals so much damage.

Voli is played as a sidelane pusher. In the start of the laning phase, play agressive with your E to zone enemies off your wave, proc your lightning and get level 3 first. Depending on the enemy, you could go for a full combo of Q, W and E then back off. Usually, they can't outtrade you so they will back off. Zone them off, find opportunities to combo them with Q W if they walk forward. If they don't base when you get level 6, they usually are in kill range, so dive them under turret with R. Invade enemy jungle, which is easy with Volibear, take their stuff, zone enemy off their turret, take turret, keep pushing sidelane, if rank two turret dies, go bottom to split push if there are turrets to take. Keep pushing till you reach inhibitor. Most of the time, you die if they 3 man you, but you can make it a 1 for 1 trade, which is worth it since your team can make more plays in the other parts of the map. Sometimes, when you're so fed, you can kill them all! You have great sustain and are unbelievably tanky with hullbreaker. Lethal Tempo can shred enemies so fast, a 3v1 can quickly turn into a 2v1, into a 1v1. Only group when big objectives are up.

If you don't like splitpushing too much, you can just group with your team and run around and stuff. Most of the time you're too strong for the enemy team, so enemies don't wanna fight you and your team. Usually this means free objectives. You can dive turrets when you replace hullbreaker for another tank item of your choice.

Yes, its very fun. Running around the map, killing anyone you see is unbelievably fun. You can snowball so fast with your fast waveclear and op combo, honestly, I don't know why not a lot of people play him top. In my opinion, he is utterly broken once he gets to snowball.
