Greeting Summoners, with the start of a new year I bring you the start of my new series of builds *cue drum roll* The Face Roll Collection. Like every good guide we will be covering the basics of how to correctly use this build to its full potential, along with some side notes as to other possible ways that I have thought of changing to the build to make it more streamline with the selected champion. So without further a due lets get this show started.

Runes

Giving Vi a standard Armor & Magic Resist Rune page is one of the better ideas for her to play with. Throwing in some Attack Damage runes also helps in case you need to change one of the AD items for another health regain or just health item.

Another idea that might be useful for her rune page would be to change some of 2 of the Armor runes in each section into a Health Regain rune so that she won't have to rely as heavily on the health regain items giving her more space for straight AD items.

Skill Sequence

After finishing all your pre-game work its time to get into the actual playing of Vi in game. While it is nice to know how her abilities work and a good order to play them it is really up to you to decide when to pick what. In this section I will give 3 different order on how to choose your sequence each one having a different scenario as to why you would go that way.

The sequence above being the page order, this would be your standard first play through Vi. You just unlocked her, your all hyped you wanna get to see how she works. Well it's your lucky day because this allows you to see how everything works pretty quickly, this order allows you to do moderate farm speeds early game but also makes sure you have plenty of damage abilities to attack enemy champions if a brawl occurs.

This sequence is for heavy farming. This should not, and I want to focus this part SHOULD NOT, be used your first play through in an actual game bot matches fine, a real game though no. Vi as stated earlier in the guide Vi has an squishy early game, with out starting with her Q you are dooming her unless you know what you are doing. By going first pick E you are setting up the ability to smash through minions, going into level 2 with your W will give you faster farming since you will be breaking what little armor minions have.

Being 1 skill switch different from the guide, by switching your W for your E second allows you to do more farm then the guide sequence allows but still gives you the escape ability. It also allows your Q to be a little more effective early game, by fusing Vault Breaker with Denting Blows gives Vi a weaker target to hit after her Q is finished and since they will be slightly delayed on their next move Vi can then go into 2 basic attacks to finish their armor or start to run away if she was just saving a fellow champion. This order also gives your team a slightly higher chance to KS your since you will be dropping their armor but will not have the ability to do your Q-E combo for an extra 2 levels.

Items

Alright, starting in the part that will potentially get the most questions/hate/comments/opinions/ect. While this build does work in 3x3 it can also be instated into 5x5 which is why the starting items may seem a little off and this does give you a little bit of clearance as to what you want to do at the start of the match. But for the sake of the build we will go off of what I have selected.

Boots of Speed: Since Vi is a little bit on the slower side starting boots are a must. This is also one of those items that will be interchangeable with other items for the users needs later in the game

Health Pots: This is where the build order seems weird. Since you are given a starting amount of 825 gold you can either take more health pots if you wish

Long Sword: The king pin to this whole build. Since Vi is a very easy to scale AD champion, the Long Sword plays a huge role in getting her large amounts of strength quickly without having to worry about overly farming your lane or having to go into the jungle to much to get the gold to finish an item.

Ruby Crystal: Along with Vi being an amazing burst power house she has a very squishy early game. This tags along with her slow mobility early game but is quickly changed with the help of a few defensive items built from the Crystal.

Dagger: To turn Vi into a more destructive champ attack speed can be thrown in as an added bonus.

The Brutalizer: Rushing this will give you an advantage over tanks since you will probably of already ranked up your Q at least twice before purchase, and possibly of gotten to your first level W depending on how aggressive your playing. This will allow you to spam your Q and E faster due to the cool down reduction factor of the item.

Phage: A quick purchase health booster like the Phage can be the difference between a destructive end game Vi or a squishier late game.

Locket of the Iron Solari: A playful item in the build, giving a small chunk of added bonuses, this item allows for Vi to not only get an armor and health boost but also grants her more cool down reduction along with health regain that will allow her to sustain in her lane way longer then she did before purchased if she is played right.

Aegis of the Legion: A possible replacement item for the Locket. This is very useful if you are dueling your lane since it gives the aura healing effect but also gives Vi magic resist if she is up against a caster.

Shurelya's Reverie: Another potential change for the Locket. This could play a big part since it still gives you the 10% cool down reduction but also has the active effect of boosting the speed of your nearby champions.

Berserker's Greaves: Moving into your first finalized item, the Greaves give you the nice little addition of attack speed which becomes very useful once you get down her Q-E-E combo.

The Black Cleaver: A 'hybrid' AD item. Giving not only a nice chunk of AD, it also gives you a boost in your health. A nice added effect to the Cleaver is its base +10 Armor Penetration along with the stacking armor reduction. Added in with her W reducing the enemies armor by 20% on the 3rd hit, this would drop an enemies armor 38.75% for the final hit that would then drop their armor another 6.25% and starting the next armor reduction combo.

Zephyr: Another item that gives Vi a cool down reduction but also gives you Tenacity

Zeke's Herald Zeke's Herald: Since it is an added bonus of being able to keep Vi in lane as long as possible, the Herald allows her to do that by giving her a life steal effect, along with lowering her cool down times.

Giants Belt: Getting closer to your late/end game this should give you the option of taking a few more risks with your ult and Q. Since you will have the bonus health you can turret dive champions with your Ult for a kill, then Q out into either another champion kill or just to escape the turret's hits

Frozen Mallet: The closer of your build, giving you not only a little more AD along with Health the Mallet's passive will allow you to freeze champions in place giving your more time to land that 3rd Basic hit for your W, to charge up another Q-E combo, or just to run away if you feel you can't finish the fight.

Pros / Cons

After going through all of this information I believe we need a short recap of this build along with the always loved Pro & Con list
Pros
  • High Damage output in very little time
  • Easy to escape bad situations
  • Hard to escape from once Q-R combo is learned
  • Hard to kill end game
Cons
  • Squishy early game
  • Little bit on the slower side
  • Slightly harder to master combos
  • High assist chance until level 6

Side Notes

While Vi is a lot of fun to play once you get use to her play style. She has a lot of reasons to love her and hate her. But when looking at both it is very easy to look past the pad and focus on the good. With this my fellow summoners I end this guide like I will end many more.

(1) It is also able to switch the starting game to the Boots of Speed along with a Long Sword and then take 2 Health Pots instead
(2) While the long sword does not equal out to the best items to add onto Vi it is true they are one of the cheapest. If you can get large sums of gold from killing your enemies quickly or by taking turrets while trading off alter steals then you can change this whole build to bigger items, for example: B. F. Sword and then into the items that it can be crafted into
(3) If you wish to add in the B.F.Sword replacing the 2nd Dagger would be a good position, this is will allow you to buy your 2nd Tier boots for less but also won't completely throw off the build since the Zephyr only gives you the +20 AD.
(4) Since Vi already has her W it may be a possibility to craft this into a Youmuu's Ghostblade later in the game instead of the Black Cleaver since the armor reduction bonus isn't needed
(5) If you were to replace the Zephyr with the B.F.Sword then it might be a smarter choice to plan ahead to build the Mecury's Treads instead of the Berserker's Greaves to give you the Tenacity effect.
(6) If you are planning on using this build for 5x5 I would change the Phage for an early Giant's Belt and turn it into a Warmog's Armor Mid or Late game for more health
(7) Play Ability: how easy/difficult is she to play, Mastery: how hard to really learn to play her, Creativity: how much can you change this build to make a different but usable build, Sustain: how long do I feel she can stay a good champion even with a potential nerf
