Hello guys welcome to my guide for the prophet of the void, the one and only Malzahar!!

Malzahar mostly uses damage over time abilities, two of which are area of effect abilities.
Malzahar's passive, Summon Voidling will summon a voidling which will attack enemy units, but you can't control it. It has some priority targets though. His first target will be the one you use your ultimate on, second comes a CHAMPION who is infected by Malefic Visions, then a MINION OR MONSTER who is infected by malefic visions. As for non infected targets the voidling will focus a champion rather than a minion, except if the minion is infected by malefic visions and the champion is not.
Let's start with malzahar's first ability Call of the Void. Malzahar opens 2 portals which fire projectiles between them. It deals burst damage and silences targets hit. Hitting multiple targets can be critical for the teamfight.
His second ability is Null Zone which deals magic damage based on the enemy's maximum health. It will deal massive damage to tanks.
His third ability is Malefic Visions which is also your tool for farming. Malefic Visions passes to another nearby target if the infected one dies before the spell's duration expires, and alo gives you back some mana. If u upgrade Malefic Visions to lvl 3 it can easily kill minions with some help from your auto attacks.
Nether Grasp is your ultimate which suppresses an enemy champion for 2,5 seconds, while dealing massive damage to him. Note that you can't move either when casting your ultimate so you have to be careful. Nether Grasp can offer to your team a free kill and can take care of enemy threats. Don't hesitate to use it if an enemy threatens you or your adc.

+ has 2 AoE abilities, one of them also silences
+ can melt down even tanks with his Null Zone
+ Nether Grasp totally immobilizes the enemy, making him wide open to your team

CONS
- Quicksilver Sash can be devastating for you, it removes your suppress and also your Malefic Visions
- while casting your ultimate you are also wide open to the enemy team
- no escape tools, vulnerable to ganks

Start with either Doran's Ring and 2 Health Potion or 2 Stealth Ward, 5 Health Potion and 4 Mana Potion. Choose the second build if you are really worried about getting ganked, otherwise go with the first one. When you get back to base pick Sorcerer's Shoes if you intend to start ganking, or catalyst the protector if you just want to farm at your lane quietly. Whichever you pick first, the other one must be the second. Continue your build with Haunting Guise to boost your damage. Then finish your Rod of Ages as soon as possible. Go for Rabadon's Deathcap and then choose a defensive item, which in most cases will be Zhonya's Hourglass. Finish your Liandry's Torment and get Void Staff last except if you really need it earlier. Now as for the Rod of Ages vs Rylai's Crystal Scepter matter, it is really up to you. I personally prefer rod of ages cause I usually find myself out of mana.

That's it for the Malzahar guide guys. Just remember that as the apc you must position yourself well, you are no good being dead! Sometimes protecting yourself or your adc is more important that focusing the enemy carry, so be careful who you are casting your ultimate on. As for the combo, start with q, then follow quickly with your e and w and lock the enemy down with your ultimate. USE YOUR ULTIMATE TO KEEP THE TARGET ON Null Zone TO MAXIMIZE YOUR DAMAGE OUTPUT.
