Introduction
This guide is a work in progress and will be updated soon.
As you can tell by the items above, this is a tank Galio build.
However, this build has a bit of a twist.
Instead of taking little damage when attacked, your enemies will actually heal you!
Its pretty hilarious to play and it works very well.
So lets get to it!
for Seals, i use 9 Greater Seal of Resilience. Base armor starts lower than magic resist so this helps keep things balanced and competitive early on.
For my glyphs, i use 9 Greater Glyph of Shielding. Galio's magic resist doesn't increase upon level up so this helps him to stay balanced and competitive as the game progresses. Some may argue that flat Magic resist is better but i like to be prepared for late game.
And for the quints, use 3 Gretaer Quintessence of Fortitude. really good quints for most champions, including Galio. If you dont own these, it's time to invest.
It's sooooo improtant on galio. its primary uses are as follows;
-
Chasing
Escaping
And probably most important, positioning for your
As far as your other summoner spell goes, i choose Teleport to get back to lane faster after ganking or buying items. Teleport can also be used to gank a lane with a surprise attack!
Another viable choice is Ghost, which is always useful, or Clairvoyance, if no one else takes it.
Galio's Passive converts half your magic resist in to ability power. great passive but it doesn't mean you should stack nothing but magic resist
Use your Q + your E to harvest creep waves, chase, escape, or harrass.
your W is used for early lane sustain, and making your enemies heal you later on.
Galio's Ultimate is unbelievably good! Disable the entire enemy team, or pick off an opponent or two in the jungle.
Be careful with this ult though as it is a taunt and you will lose some health. if Bulwark is on(which it should be), you won't feel the pain nearly as much, But your enemies will!
Chalice solves Galio's mana issues early game and all game. Not to mention it gives some magic resist!
Merc treads are my boots of choice and are non negotiable with this build(and pretty much Galio in general).
Spirit visage is the core item of this build. it helps so much!
-
Magic resist(and ability power)
Health
Cooldown reduction
And the health regen effects are just the best
Banshees Veil and Thornmail are next for their resistances and unique effects. The order in which you get these items is situational and very dependent on the other team
The last item i get is a Will of the Ancients. More healing off of spells and Thornmail even heals you now! this can be replaced with whatever is needed or an item you see fit but is what i generally use.
This build is cheap and effective. It focuses more on resistances and less on health in order to make your heals worth more.
