So, you want to be able to effortlessly earn pentakills? Garen is THE best pick for this. Let's go over some strong points:

-Amazing AP sungler
-Easily self-sustained
-Clarity gives opportunities for great ganks.

But what I bet you DIDN'T know was that Garen is a huge bookworm. Play this to your advantage, and you will be greatly rewarded.

Any good champion (apart from a dunking Yi) needs a good mastery page, and the above does just that. Remember, AD of any sort is useless to Garen, as he is a physical wimp (that sword is just a plastic toy he bought at Comic-Con).

The key to surviving a teamfight is Summoner spells. For Garen, take Clairovoyance and Clarity. Clarity keeps him topped up on mana, so he can spam away with his powerful AoE magic attacks, while Clairovoyance allows easy ganks on enemies you are laning. Stay away from Ignite, Flash, Teleport and Exhaust; they have no use for Garen.

Little known fact: Garen sleeps in until the match starts, so he must go about his morning routine. First, get a fresh pair of underpants (Cloth Armour) from your expansive wardrobe. Now, he makes his equivalent of a morning coffee: a Mana Potion. Garen makes two, putting the second one in a flask for use during his busy day. After this, he visits his mother's grave, wearing her Sapphire Crystal as a necklace to remember her. Garen now pulls on his Sorcerer's Shoes and is ready for work. As an office worker, he sorts through large amounts of paperwork, and must keep them in special, yellow folders. To provide Garen the folders, purchase 2 Amplifying Tomes. After this, Garen returns home and relaxes with a good book. He usually reads a chapter of Doran's bestseller, Meljai's Soulstealer. DO NOT upgrade an Amplifying Tome into the Meija's, as that will get Garen fired. Your final build should be 2 Amplifying Tomes, a Meija's Soulstealer, a Sorcerer's Shoes, Cloth Armour and a Sapphire Crystal.

This is excruciatingly straightforward, simply use the above runes to maximize magic damage.

First, hide in the brush of your team's jungle next to the Elder Lizard. When it spawns, wait until you are level 3 from standing by minion fights. Engage it once you have your Q, W and E. Stun it using a combo of W and E, drop your Q ability on it and flee; the true DoT should finish it. Continue to use this on Lizard, Golem and any champions passing through mid until level 16. Now, you have enough magic burst damage to solo Baron, and you will do so. In a teamfight, your goal is to stun the enemy's carry and spam your AoE slow. DO NOT destroy turrets. Your turret-destroying capability is weak, as you must rely on Garen's pathetic AD autoattack. You should be at the nexus in no time.
