Zyra is incredibly fun to play, with mechanics involving plants make it a unique experience every game. Her damage takes a little time to ramp up, but with my comet build you can expect to catch people out and punish them throughout the game often. Her ability to zone off an entire back line as the enemy tank charges in or to just simply take down a squishy target by yourself as a support is crazy strong, and she has the added bonus of actually being one of the safest AP Mage Supports on bot lane.

Sorcery

Arcane Comet adds extra poke damage upon successfully landing an ability in the lane, and it can also trigger from plant auto-attacks. It provides consistently reliable damage, though opponents can attempt to dodge by moving or dashing.However, it proves challenging to evade due to Zyra's slows and roots, ensuring a consistent presence throughout the game.

Manaflow Band generates maximum mana throughout the laning phase and, upon reaching full stacks, offers mana regeneration. It serves as a crucial method to prevent mana depletion after your initial recall in the lane. While Zyra doesn't excessively consume mana, opting for runes that address mana regeneration is essential to avoid potential mana issues. Alternatively, you can explore Biscuit Delivery in the Inspiration tree for additional options.

Transcendence a lot of ability haste was taken off items in Season 2024, so transcendence is even more neccessary.


Scorch proves more effective when the average game duration is shorter, making it a preferable choice over Gathering Storm. However, if the typical length of your games exceeds 30 minutes, Gathering Storm becomes significantly superior.


Inspiration

Biscuit Delivery is great if you find yourself generally struggle with mana management.

Cosmic Insight is a great generic rune to make your summoners on a lower cooldown.

Throughout the laning phase, focus on harassing with Deadly Spines to generate income from your World Atlas and build up Manaflow Band stacks. When confident in landing Deadly Spines, place a Rampant Growth seed nearby to have a plant contribute an additional gold hit and extra damage.

Exercise caution with Grasping Roots, using them either for peeling or as a hard engage.

Against aggressive support champions with strong engages, prioritize poking them down while aiming to reach level 2 first. This strategy allows you to control the lane. If this scenario doesn't unfold, maintain a defensive position.

Encourage your team to prioritize objectives that are easily killable, as plants provide substantial damage with their effectiveness further enhanced by the purchase of Liandry's Torment.

Place wards around the objective and invest in Control Wards to maintain secure vision.


Acquiring Rylai's Crystal Scepter early can aid in peeling for your team, and prolonging the game duration offers your team an opportunity for a comeback.

Facing full AD teams may be daunting, but it's crucial to prioritize an early Zhonya's Hourglass build to ensure you can outscale the enemy team as the game progresses.
