Build

Note: This is my first build... ever...

I made this guide to see if people were open to a hybrid build for Master Yi he is a fun charater and easy to play. Feel free to comment or even correct me as i said before this is my first guide. I spent several hours on this guide and i believe i went in dept on the crucial and key elements to playing a sucessful hybrid yi build. I hope you enjoy Master Yi as much as i do and agree that hybrid is the way to build the Wuju Master. xD

Please do not rate until you have tried.

Introduction

Keeper of the ancient art of Wuju, Master Yi is a mystical warrior from the isle of Ionia. He descended from one of the few tribes dedicated to the preservation of Wuju, a martial art founded with the principles of absolute spiritual awareness of one's self and one's enemy. When the armies of Noxus invaded Ionia, Master Yi joined in the Ionian defense to fight the craven enemy, bringing his village honor through his unparalleled mastery of the blade. The ensuing battles ravaged the land, but no conflict inflicted as much horror as the day the armies of Noxus closed in on Yi's village. Left undefended, the village became the unfortunate test subject of the latest invention by an up-and-coming chemist, now known as Singed. The remains of the village that Master Yi returned to were so horrific that it remains a festering scar on Ionian history. To this day, no Ionian will ever publicly speak of what occurred.

After the Noxian invasion was contained, Master Yi fell into a deep isolation. For years, he trained morning to night, speaking to no one and refusing offers of consolation by fellow Ionians. The only thing stopping him from madly charging into Noxus battle lines headfirst was his pledge to keep the Wuju style alive. Even though he seethed with impatience, his rage became a tool for sharpening his practice of Wuju, developing stronger and deadlier skills for his eventual vengeance. The only thing that roused him was news of the League's formation, and Noxus' subsequent enrollment in the League. Master Yi now brings his mastery of the blade to the League of Legends with unflinching purpose: to avenge his kinfolk and end the predations of the Noxus once and for all.

''The art of Wuju lives on in Master Yi, and is plunged through the hearts of his foes.'' -- Soraka, the Starchild

Ability Sequence

I find Yi is very easy for his ability sequence. For Group fight you pop your ult and Wuju Style then Alpha Strike in and go for the most squishy charater in the group.
NOTE: you Alpha Strike will always return you to the beginning location of the first enemy you hit and if you killed that enemy then is will return you to the beginning location where you started the Alpha Strike so be sure when you chose a minion to hit make sure hes relatively close to your ext minion wave or laning partner. Unless your going for the kill or pressing the enemy i wouldnt Alpha Strike on a enemy champion because once they see you Alpha Strike then tend to back up.
Save your Meditate for once your low on health and there chasing you if you can pop Ghost to get out and Meditate underneath a tower this is essential for early game because Meditate give you an extra 100 armor and Magic Resistance. So while they think they can take you all you do is sit and heal while they die. I find that this is quite the effective tactic to use when in early to mid laning phase because it will act as a deterrent from them attacking you ,and if they have some form of Crowd Control ,I.E Renekton's Ruthless Predator(stun), make sure they burn it first then use meditate i cant count how many times this has worked against more beefy charaters like Garen, Renekton,and Olaf who think they can dive the tower to get me :)
Ability Order:

R->E->Q->W

Tower pushing is quite simple in the laning phase i dont normally use my Wuju Style or E ability, the reason is because i save it for the key moment of chucking a good 25%+ of the towers health while the enemy champions are away. xD
what i normally do is once i get the chance i pop Wuju style and have at it and if i have my ult since its only on a 55 second cooldown i might pop that as well.
ability Order:

R->E

Summoner Spells

Your Options here are quite open you have a myriad of diffrent spells that work well.. But i chose Ghost and Teleport for a few reasons. First off we all know Yi is a really good Tower pusher so Teleport and Tower Pushing go hand and hand simple as that. I like Ghost because its a good ability to escape or engage in a fight. Exhaust is another good option to hunt down enemies and if your a Flash user thats a good one as well... Clarity is a ok option but you have mana regen so i dont see the need but like i said all options.

Runes

I Chose these runes to augment the 3 main sources of damage your are using, which are Ability Power, Attack Damage, and Attack Speed. I also feel once you ending the laining phase ,which is ussually between level 7 to 10, i feel mana starved. You could always go for blue buff but really... you think that Malzahar,Anivia or Brand is really gonna give it to you? I dont think so...

Masteries

I Chose these Masterise to bonus what your main damage and abilities that yi uses i base him off of mainly mana regen as well because we all know a Yi with a full mana bar is a threat...

Items

Some abrievations for ya
AP=Ability Power
AD=Attack Damage
AS=Attack Speed

I start with boots naturally because they give you the esential get away from enemies. I chose 1 health pot and 2 mana because we all know we want to go and facecheck that 2nd bush and it ussually ends up becoming a fight at level one,and since we always get Alpha Strike this allows us to push them and stay in lane even if we get really low. Once level 2 hits we get meditate that allows us to stay in lane and we know that Alpha Strike loves to eat mana and at such a low CD its burns mana like none other. Malady is an awsome beginning item it gives you everything you need for beginning a lane attack speed makes up for the lack of AD you dont have and the AP helps your Alpha Strike damage and Meditate healing. I could talk forever about Guinsoo's Rageblade it gives you some AD and AP but this helps alot because once you get into any major fight u pop your ult and chase em down you just hit harder and faster with each hit.Guinsoo's Rageblade also allows you to strike at the optimal time by building your stacks on minions then going in for the champion kill this item also allows you to heal for more say your low on health all you need to do is hit a few minions then heal up and since it stack 6 AP per stack and 8 stacks if my math is right it gives you an additional 48 AP and since his ability give you 30% of your AP i believe that is an extra 14.4 health per second ad since the ability lasts 5 second that gives you right around 60 more health which i'll take anyday. Next is Nashor's Tooth this gives you the bulk of your AS but at this point in the game i dont believe you have enough AS which is where the runes come into play. Next couple of items are Given for any hybrid build. For your last item you have a few choices you Madred's Bloodrazor is if you have a more tanking group like Garen, Olaf, Warwick, Jarvan etc... You could always go Guardian Angel if your being focused and maybe even a Frozen Mallet. All just options for ya..
