Wukong can be a slippery laner when played correctly but if played incorrectly, you can deal some damage but leave yourself open to returned damage. When going in to poke you should try to E onto your opponent, get your attack speed boost, then Q after your aa to put out the max amount of damage before returning behind your minions with W. This poking strategy is great when you have your Tiamat or Hydra to deal even more damage by adding you Tiamat active in between your Q and your escape with W. Once you acquire your ult you can do the same process but add your Tiamat after your ult. The way you do this is probably start in a bush, W out of the bush (make sure your clone is still in the bush) then once you can, E onto your enemy, aa then Q for max damage there, and finally ult and Ignite the enemy. If you feel they won't die when your ult ends, you can use your Tiamat to finish the job and secure the kill before returning to farm.
Early game and Late game are great times to be farming with Wukong because you want to get all of your items asap to get your maximum damage potential when team fighting. Considering you will more than likely be starting a Crystalline flask with 3 pots, you should have no problem using some of your abilities to farm, just be careful when doing this because they enemy may take advantage of you having no abilities available to retaliate. So when you are confident you can farm with abilities you E the minions and Q them. This is very efficient when you have your Tiamat because the passive aoe damage you can deal with your basic attacks. You want to stay in lane farming for quite a while even when your lane opponent leaves so that you can get ahead in lvls and farm compared to your enemy. This will put you in a great position to team fight mid/late game.
