Hi, I am a Diamond 4 jungle Rengar main. I started playing League of Legends at the very end of S3, maining ADC for the first half and Rengar top for the second half of S4. I started playing Rengar in the jungle since S5 and now I've peaked at Diamond 4. My main account is called "D Rensus". My second account is called "Caonny".

Rengar is a mobile assassin that has the potential to dominate soloq. Like every champion in the game, Rengar has his pros and cons.

When taking Rengar into the jungle, obviously smite is essential. There are 3 options for your second summoner spell: Flash, Ignite, Exhaust. I HIGHLY recommend taking flash as it is the by far the best summoner spell in the game leading to some flashy plays. Ignite and Exhaust are situational spells, only consider taking these after you have mastered Rengar. Take Ignite for more kill pressure and Exhaust for 1v1 potential.

This page is pretty normal for most caster junglers. Keep in mind the 5% CDR is VERY important for our build. Take Spell and Blade Weaving as Rengar does weave a mix of basic attacks and spells in his combo. Some people take Block and Unyielding in the defensive tree but I find them useless compared to Recovery and Bladed Armor. Of course these are tiny differences so change them according to your preference.

Similar to our mysteries we place a heavy emphasis on CDR. We take full CDR glyphs and 1 CDR quint, this takes us to 10% CDR from runes alone. Armor penetration scales ridiculously well into the mid-game so we take them instead of AD for our marks and quints. Armor seals are pretty standard for taking less damage in the jungle.

This is the most standard way to level your abilities on Rengar. We max Q followed by E, putting points into R when we can, maxing W last. We take W at level 2 is because it does the same amount of damage as E while giving resistances for taking less damage in the jungle.

Hydra provides you with a fast clear with a decent amount of sustain. Ghostblade lets us increase the distance covered while we are in stealth as well as some minor attack speed. Last Whisper is the most essential for all AD assassins as it will be the item that reduces the most armor. Infinity Edge provides massive amounts of AD as well as a deadly 250% critical strike. Phantom Dancer allows you to move faster as well as a higher chance to crit on your assassination. CDR boots are for shorter ult timers and higher DPS.

You can also grab Sword of the Occult if you are feeling feisty. Mobility boots are acceptable for beginners but restricts your ganking pressure.
