Champion Build Guide
Small Points on Each Item
Boots
Berserkers Greaves
⁃ Essential with only one attack speed item
⁃ Strong to rush early game and synergize well with the champ, but overall there are much better boots
Swiftness Boots
⁃ Best boots for ideal situations
⁃ High mobility
⁃ Strong against poke
⁃ Helps deal with teams that have a lot of slows
⁃ Strongest tier 3 boots
⁃ Need to ensure there is enough attack speed in the build
Mercury’s Treads
⁃ Very good against AP champs or heavy AP comps, especially good into high CC champs (tenacity is an extremely useful stat)
⁃ Harder to get magic resist in the build which increases their value
⁃ Much stronger in most situations than Berserkers Greaves, just a matter of ensuring you have enough attack speed
Plated Steelcaps
⁃ Strong against heavy AD comp or to help survive against lane opponent
⁃ Need enough attack speed in build
⁃ Still likely better than Berserkers in the right build, but not as good as other 2 options
First Item
Blade of the Ruined King
⁃ Good sustain
⁃ Strong against tanks
⁃ Easier to stick to target
⁃ Con is less attack speed making Berserkers more important
⁃ Works well with all runes, best first item for Fleet
Kraken Slayer
⁃ Best first item in ideal situations
⁃ Enables boots other than Berserkers
⁃ Works best with Grasp or Tempo
Yun Tal
⁃ Scales very well and allows for crit early game
⁃ Enables boots other than Berserker
⁃ Works best with Grasp or Tempo
Second Item
Stridebreaker
⁃ Increases survivability
⁃ Easier to stick to targets
⁃ Attack speed allows for building boots alternative to Berserkers, which results in even more survivability
⁃ Delays crit power-spike
Immortal Shieldbow
⁃ Increased survivability
⁃ Big crit powerspike
⁃ Forces you to build Berserkers, making the build overall worse
⁃ Strongest against scaling comps where the earlier power-spike is important
Blade of the Ruined King
⁃ Kraken Slayer into BoRK is very strong against teams that have a lot of tanks
⁃ Will go Lord Dominicks next to round out the trio of tank shred
Wits End
⁃ Against very heavy AP comps or a lane that I cannot survive without Magic Resist
⁃ Important to build Kraken Slayer this allows you to still deal damage through on-hit (since AD is lower), BoRK is okay but reduced attack speed decreases the effectiveness of the on-hit
⁃ Pair with Merc Treads
Infinity Edge
⁃ Only build if Yun Tal first item and starting to snowball
⁃ Massive damage spike
⁃ Greediest second item because it gives no survivability unlike all the others
Third Item
Immortal Shieldbow
⁃ Ideal place to build this item
⁃ Essential to almost all Yasuo builds
⁃ Increased survivability synergizes well with Grasp, Stridebreaker, and even BoRK, also building it third ensures alternatives boots to Berserkers meaning even more survivability
⁃ Big crit power-spike
Lord Dominick’s Regards
⁃ Rounds out the trio with Kraken Slayer and BoRK
⁃ Huge tank shred
Infinity Edge
⁃ Strong if already at 50% crit and the survivability isn’t really necessary
⁃ Huge damage power-spike
Hullbreaker
⁃ Strong for bruiser Yasuo with Grasp, Kraken, Stride, and some defensive boots
⁃ Much stronger in the side lane (likely better item for top Yasuo)
⁃ Weaker now that crit Yasuo has been buffed
Fourth Item
Infinity Edge
⁃ Almost every game fourth item
⁃ Massive damage power-spike
Bloodthirster
⁃ If 100% crit chance has already been reached
⁃ Massive sustain
Steraks Gage
⁃ Bruiser Yasuo
⁃ Weaker with crit buffs
Jaksho the Protean
⁃ Great survivability, best in scenarios where the build is dealing enough damage and needs survivability, gives magic resist unlike death’s dance (other main defensive 5th item)
Lord Dominick’s Regards
⁃ Important against tanks, with the increased penetration after ult tanks get melted
Last Item
Bloodthirster
⁃ Huge sustain
⁃ My personal favourite item, building it means you can always heal back to full if you can hit something
Mortal Reminder
⁃ Only reason to build is antiheal, gives some decent stats but is important against high sustain champs
Death’s Dance
⁃ Great survivability, helps protect from getting bursted in fights, really good for when the enemy team has big damage
⁃ Does not give Magic Resist, better to go Jaksho or Wit’s End if against high AP
Spirit Visage
⁃ Magic Resist item that works the best for Yasuo late game
⁃ Increased healing is very strong
⁃ Magic Resist is an OP stat and is really important on Yasuo in a lot of games, one of his best last items
Guardian Angel
⁃ Revive passive can be huge late game, especially against champs that rely on ults to kill, for example Malzahar
⁃ No Magic Resist
Wit’s End
⁃ Magic Resist is the main reason to build this, the stat is OP and hard to get on Yasuo
⁃ On-hit passive weaker at this stage of the game
Overlords Bloodmail
⁃ Bruiser build
⁃ Gives increased damage based on bonus health, and gain bonus damage based on missing health, only useful in the bruiser build but it is a must buy in that build
Maw of Malmortius
⁃ Good against heavy AP especially assassins/burst mages, helps protect from getting one-shot by AP champs
⁃ Kind of a bad item despite Magic Resist being OP
Force of Nature
⁃ Massive amount of Magic Resist and nice amount of health too for survivability
Randuin’s Omen
⁃ Armor
Thornmail
⁃ Armor and antiheal for situations where anti-heal is needed and the armor from Thornmail is more important than the damage from Mortal Reminder
Berserkers Greaves
⁃ Essential with only one attack speed item
⁃ Strong to rush early game and synergize well with the champ, but overall there are much better boots
