early game

early game is pretty easy when playing against an AP caster, like orianna or veigar.
start Q - E - W for early poke. if you play against a veigar or any other champ with a big stun try to farm and go in around lvl 4.
if playing against something like zed, its hard getting ahead. Zed, Yasuo or Talon are you biggest thread if they play good. try getting help from your jungler and farm.
blue buff is great on early levels as you use alot of abilities. try to get it and if not, just play a little saver. having blue buff doesnt mean that you should go all in but yo ucan push harder and might be able to pick up an early kill.

Mid game

you should be around lvl 10/11 now and have some kills, if not, try roaming to botside. 2 kills are better than 1 am i right? no but serieusly, lucian is origianly an ADC so he'll do fine against the enemy botlane.
Use your ult whenever you feel like it, it has a low cooldown and is really good.
Minion wave pushing into your tower with 2/3 enemies behind it? press R
6/2 master yi trying to get to you? E - R away from him.

your ult is one of the best abilities to protect yourself or towers.[

late game

there should be alot of teamfighting. try to go for the enemy carry, you deal alot of damage with just items. even if you are going negative just try to, you'd be surprised about the damage you deal.
this is the time your ult has around 1 minute cooldown. use this to your advantage, ult as much as possible.
