What is up, playas. This is BoneCrusherXX3 featuring my first build as Lux, and though it may be newbie to just Now making a build after a year on this site, I have never felt that comfortable with anyone enough to give advice to others.. Until now. My buddy recently suggested I play Lux, and since last week, I have been on a rampage. But of course, that is me, not you, and this is why I'm making a build.
2 Rules:
1. Play Aggressive, but not the same way as a melee champ.
2. Know how to Skillshot. If you dont, don't even consider playing Lux. Ever.

Because most of the Abilities Lux has are offensive, she doesn't have much survivability. Ghost and Flash both fit that survivability asset. You shouldn't ever be close enough to worry about Exhaust them, and everything else is pretty much useless for her. Heal or Cleanse could also be used for survivability, but you shouldn't ever be in that situation playing Lux.
This is just a normal mage-like rune page, so I use:
Marks - 9 Greater Mark of Magic Penetration
Seals - 9 Greater Seal of Health
Glyphs - 9 Greater Glyph of Ability Power
Quints - 3 Greater Quintessence of Ability Power
This is just a personal choice, as it works for me. But of course, this is just advice, not instructions.

This is too simple, Basic 9-0-21. The arrangement isn't that important as long as you have
Archaic Knowledge
in your offense, and
Presence of the Master
in Utility. It works perfectly for me, because I ALWAYS use Ghost and Flash, so they fit well in my Utility tree. Plus that rhymed :D
This, again, is almost a no brainer, but a couple things may show you the Light on playing Lux.
Start of with a Doran's Ring, of course, because the nice Mana per 5, AP, and Health. Perfect for Lux so far.
By the time I have successfully done my damage, a few kills (maybe), and MOST Importantly, aquired 800 gold, I go back for a philosopher's stone. This will add a nice Mana regain per 5, a little hp per 5, and most importantly, More gold!! This should keep you steady for a while as you use up that mana, but keeping enough to get ready for that low cd Ult, or to help a teammate in need.
^^ THESE TWO ITEMS WILL BE THE CORE FOR YOUR GG!! ^^
After this you need your boots, herp, then the last item you will probably only need if you have half-decent teamates - Rylai's Crystal Scepter.
The Crystal Skepter will Slow the enemy during and After you use Lucent Singularity. Double Slow will help you and the Xin on your team ready to pounce.
After these items feel free to buy whatever is necessary to help the game out. Void Staff against Tanks, Rabadon's Deathcap against average and squishies, ext. If you have done well with harassing and getting kills/assists, you should only have to get the Crystal Skepter.

After the very first day of posting the build, I already received comments on getting Rod of Ages early game so it could stack up well. By the time I finish my game with my Rylai's Crystal Scepter, you would've only been 1/2 - 3/4 the way done with the Rod. Trust me. You don't want to wait till the Rod ages, because as I said, late game she will NOT be as effective. Just a little personal preference.
Just for you, Unremarkable :D
If you doubt your teammates and/or their abilities,
get a Rod early, because late game will help.Just for you, Unremarkable :D
Farming minions is super easy because her third ability, Lucent Singularity. You should throw it right dead smack in the middle of the melee minions and the mage minions, then detonate. All 6-8 (or whatever) would light up with a little light around them, thanks to your passive, Illumination. After that, let your minions attack just a bit then finish them off with an auto attack.
Note - This is the only reason to auto attack with Lux. To explode an Enemy. It is NOT worth getting a Lich Bane, because it will take up a spot you could replace with another Rabadon's Deathcap, or something along the lines.
The last tip to farming would be to Use your Ult. WHAT!? Ult a creep wave!?? Yes. After level 16 you will have ~30 second CD with your ult. Easy 5 kills right before you go back to base ;)

On 3's, She's so effective with that Ult. You stay bottom, while keeping top lane on their feet with your ult. Top lane will be Scared to initiate you ally on top because he/she knows that 300/400/500 + Beam will
On 5's, Take mid. That's where one person CAN affect the whole game, such as a LeBlanc or Annie going on a rampage. You want to keep an eye on MIAs, as well as top and bottom. Because her ult, Once again, you can only walk half way top or bot to Use that sweet ult. If you haven't noticed the only real reason I have described using my ult would be to use it while enemies are engaging my teammates, or if they're getting away. You either last hit a champ, farm (late game), or help in a teamfight. Never use it to scare an enemy, because they know it's an ult, and you just used it up. Time to wreck a Lux.
Plus, if you do lane with anyone, either 3's or 5's, stay behind your tank or dps. You never want to lead a pack, such a sweet innocent girl ;)

Plus with all the harassing you can do, you can EASILY maintain two bottom, which is why I always lane botOn 5's, Take mid.
