Thx for the comment Jimmy, I know Liandry is not the best item by itself, but Lux falls off a lot late game (and I'm trying to adjust for that) when everyone is tanky but adc and maybe mid- and the adc has life-steal so no point harassing him unless in team fights. The idea for Liandry is to harass the enemy before a full team fight (mage mode)- Or option 2 (assassin mode)is to somehow just blow up the adc before the teamfight, but it gets tricky late game and adc prob woudnt just be in range of your snare... And as for twin shadow...I'm sure Lich Bane is better than twin shadow, but by late game, the game is closing and may not have the time or money to get a Lichbane; just a sheen and bast wand doesn't give movement speed that is needed for late game survival. Thanks! for reply, I'll add those to cheat sheet as Ideal items, and keep Twin shadow as option. Discussion are great for forcing everyone to think

No problems with getting Mejais on lux, although you should mention that its useful because you get stacks off assists.
I'm fairly sure Llandrys is a bad item to have in your cheatsheet, and that NOBODY gets Twin shoadow on lux mid-lane. Put Zhonyas and GA or Lich bane in your cheatsheet instead.

Hmm, you do have a point about upgrading the Regrowth Pendent to a Philosopher's-stone, however, I recommend to upgrade this after an ability power item. True, philo-stone doesn't take much to upgrade and provides a small amount of income that will slowly pay itself back; however, having tried all those starting items, I usually upgrade Regrowth Pendent after because of two reasons:

1) The time period between "shopping trips" is important. Having the extra couple hundred gold can mean getting the Rabadon's Cap 5 mins earlier! Getting AP quicky will also surprise your opponent as they were accustomed to your previous weak AP damage rates, therefore you can get early kills more easily. Then, after you Zapped them or force them to retreat, you can go back to buy items and regain some mana :)

2) If Lux gets AP quick enough, you can 1 hit KO all the caster minion with just lucent singularity and then pick off the melee minions. (this is already worth about 3 minutes of income from an philo-stone).

Thanks for you feedback AgaliareptX. I added the Philosopher's Stone after Basting Wand.
I'm sure many have the same questions. Generally, beginners do not need this level of detail. Just come here to get started, and go play to learn the details. Hf.

Everyone's going to have their own opinion, but I take Doran's Ring first as well. In fact if I'm getting harassed a lot, stacking 2 or 3 Doran's Rings is a good, cost-effective way to gain an advantage/catch up in lane. If you compare the stats (Doran's: 100 health, 15 AP, 5 mana regen/Regrowth: 15 health regen) it really is no contest imo. Part of the strategy in playing Lux is you really want to harass with your abilities until your laning opponent is low enough that you can burst him/her down with your combo. You talk about feeling safer to do damage with her passive with the health regen, but you really shouldn't be getting that close unless you know you can combo-burst him/her down. Plus I would think that 100 extra health would work just as well in helping you survive as 15 health regen, and that 15 AP that a Doran's gives you helps in all areas, from harassing to last hitting with your E. Also the mana regen lets you spam your spells a little more, which always helps.

The one issue I have is that you say to upgrade the Regrowth Pendant to a Philosopher's Stone ONLY if you're a low-level summoner. I'd say you should upgrade to a Philo Stone EVERY game. There's 0 reason not to. For one, the Regrowth Pendant only gives a minor health regen boost, which may help early but becomes useless on it's own after a couple of minutes. Upgrading to a Philo Stone takes very little extra gold, gives you mana regen (which is obviously important on a caster like Lux) and also give you extra gold per 5 seconds. Extra gold is always good and if you hold onto it until you have to sell it (usually not until near the end game when you need to free up a inventory slot) you make back the investment on the upgrade PLUS a lot more.

Good guide though, it's well-written and well thought out. Honestly I think there are some things in this guide that aren't the best way to go and may hurt the "complete beginners" you're trying to help. Just my opinion though, if you wanted to debate any of your points and maybe we can come up with some improvements that we both agree on, I'm free. ^^

:) Actually, I do use Doran's Shield and Ring. However, I find Regrowth Pendent to be a much better choice most of the time. I would only use Doran's Shield against multiple heavy AD champs such as Cait; I was afraid people would think I'm crazy for using Doran's Shield so I didn't put it in(already some1 thinks i am for putting Regrowth Pendent...). Doran Shield will throw off Cait's Ultimate use, but in the long run, Doran shield will not provide as much sustain as a regrowth pendent. sustain is damage taken/time= hp healed/time.

For Doran's Ring, I would only use that if I know my lanning opponent doesn't stand a chance ...kind of like the reason one would get a soul-stealer. Regrowth Pendent however, in my opinion is the most adaptive choice as I am can either play defensively or be very aggressively by exchanging damage to wear my opponent down so I can laser them at level 6. With Regrowth Pendent, I can bravely do more damage using her passive than if I had an extra 15 AP and a tiny gain in mana.

Thanks for the question , but next time please don't draw such a quick conclusion that something is not the best choice. It may not be the best for the play style you are used to or expect, but it works well for my play style with Lux using the given Runes, Items, and Masteries.

Regrowth Pendant pendant is really not the best choice as you could take Dorans Shield/Ring - Dorans Shield also would increase your heal regan, give you extra health and some armor for survivability. The guide is very descriptive and keep doing them.

Some of your statements are completely the same as what I believe in as a gamer, the guide is small, easy to read and informative.

It's like some kind of a positive player attidute flows trough the screen as I read it.
Always a pleasure to play and learn with people like this.

Thx for the suggestion. I'll provide some more info, however, I do not wish to provide too much detail like many other guides that go though every summoner spell...

It's a good start for a first guide. I don't completely agree with your item choices and runes/mastery picks, though. I think you should go more in-depth about why you picked this build. Otherwise, people won't understand.

I didn't vote yet, since there is a lot of room for improvement. Improve your guide and I'll come back for a final verdict.

I agree with your summary, people should act more like that. :)
