The reason for these runes are because more ap lets you start off easier in mid, ap yi is rather mana hungry, therefore if you cant receive blue buff from your jungler, you can still regen some to sustain, and armor, is good for any ad carry and basic attacks.

These masteries are all focused on ap and mana regen since ap yi doesnt need to be tanky since he has only one damager, he can stay back and do TONS OF DAMAGE.

The dorians rings are so that you can be a pimp, the boots are so you can run fast with your jordans, the rabadons is so you got swag, lichbane is #YOLO, zhonias is for Protection in bed, abyssal scepter is so you can use it as a steely dan, and the quick silver sash is so you can go kamakaze.

Your q is most important because it is your main damager, your w is net most important because it helps you sustain in lane forever, and your e is just extra damage if you cant finish off with your q. Also always get your ulti when possible
