Play as safe as possible, you out scale. Her blinding assault is her way of saying "**** you". It does big damage and prevents you from ulting. She can also kite you out easily while staying out of ability range. The best way to win vs Quinn is to freeze wave in front of your tower. Once she leaves to roam (her kit's purpose) crash the massive wave you built up and recall. Keep repeating this until you have an exp and cs advantage. Then you can think of side laning.
Vayne
Vayne is Quinn, but she roams a lot less and actually scales. If you get into her range she will shred you with her true damage. She won't leave lane for anything so you can't crash any waves. She has more mobility than you and can displace you with her Condemn. All you can do is attempt to freeze wave until your jungle arrives, or when Vayne leaves to buy items. then you can shove wave and roam.
Dr. Mundo
Buy Anti-Heal early. Hide behind minions to protect yourself from his cleavers. His all in potential on you is pretty high and your only get off me tool is nullified by his passive. Try to take advantage of his relatively weak early game, but be careful.
Jax
Jax's level 1-3 is a lot stronger than yours. Bait his E, early it's cooldown is quite long, but as an ability it nullifies your auto attacks which are essential for procing your passive and are also a major chunk of your damage. You go even Mid game so try to get 6 first, then all in. his levels 4 and 5 are worse than yours if you bait out his E correctly. Late game never 1v1 him in a side lane, he will only side lane so try and build a lead so you can take match him in a side lane without forcing a fight. If he gets a lead he will snowball and win the game, even if its just a small one.
Poppy
Tank champion with MS boost and a passive that gives her decent poke vs you plus a shield to mitigate your Qs in lane. she also has her ult to get you off her in your ultimate. I'd suggest sorcs and void staff for this match up, maybe even protobelt but I don't think its that good on Mordekaiser in general.
Fiora
Freeze, build up a wave and slow push it. Her W is very good at countering your long wind up animations. She also blocks your ultimate, heals, deals true damage, has a dash and because of these things is an incredible duelist. However this isn't unwinable, it depends on the fiora player most of the time. If she has no idea how to play fiora or is overconfident, you can punish her hard for using her W incorrectly early game. A good fiora though is pretty much a lost cause.
Kayle
Try and beat her early but don't over extend for kills. Just try and get her behind in the early levels when it comes to xp and CS. Make sure to punish the living **** out of her every mistake before 6. Try and get 6 first and all in with ultimate. Don't shove waves under her tower otherwise you're giving up lane to her. Once she hits 6 she beats you, make sure to take advantage of bushes post 6 as she cant kite you out if she can't click on you. bait her ult then you can all in with your own. Late game she becomes an unstoppable monster, this doesn't mean you can't duel her in your ultimate. You just have to make sure she doesn't have hers.
Riven
If she's a good riven then she's gonna take advantage of your poor mobility and go for free trades with her stun.
If she's bad then its free. I feel like there are too many variables for this lane to actually give proper advice, its more of an experience match up.
Nasus
Keep the waves near your side of the lane, this prevents him from getting free stacks. Don't overextend for kills against Nasus. Just punish him for going for farm, even if it means you missing some yourself. eventually you would have done enough damage for you to all in with ultimate. Late game he beats anyone 1v1 if he has enough stacks, even you in death realm. To beat him, you just have to make sure he doesn't have a laning phase.
Tryndamere
Tryndamere can easily beat you with his ultimate. Buy bramble and Ninja tabis early. It will make the lane so much easier for you. He'll want to split mid-late game and you cant really do much about that. This is the only lane I'd might consider ignite over tp, but I'd still use tp most of the time against tryndamere.
Yone
Honestly, you beat him in lane most of the time. Most of the time its a new Yone trying some offmeta top build. But on the rare occasion you might encounter a competent one. I don't have too much experience fighting good top Yone players. So I don't have too many tips.
Camille
Camille is an irritating champion to fight as Mordekaiser. She's got mobility with her E and will always go for short trades with you. Her passive shield is annoying because when you try to punish her for going short trades vs you she mitigates a lot of your damage. However once you get to go for a extended trade when she makes a mistake, its so sweet just to ****ing murder her. This match up is skill based in her favour, but most of the time Camille players are just using her because she's "broken" so they will generally have less experience on her and will make those game losing mistakes more often. But as a general tip for any Camille match up, keep the wave frozen on your side of the lane, and she won't be able to trade. If she does just punish her hard.
Ornn
You won't fight an Ornn too often, but when you do its skill based. He's got boat loads of CC to bully you with, but won't do too much damage to you. I suggest going legend; tenacity into this match up. Go for extended trades, and abuse a side lane mid-late game.
Tahm Kench
After his rework, tahm kench has become yet another problem to deal with. This is a skill based match up. I'd suggest legend; tenacity along with merc treads. He has a lot of CC and a surprising amount of damage for a tank, but he can't deal with your own healing and ultimate, make sure his ult is down before you use yours. The best way to win lane is to try and get 6 first then all in. NEVER TOWERDIVE A TAHM KENCH.
Kennen
I've barely seen kennens, like ever. All i can say is that he's got range on you, but that's pretty much it. Once you get him in range of an ulti he's pretty much dead. But don't underestimate his damage, especially with his stun and ult.
Warwick
He's there to make sure you have a bad laning phase, so play safe, he's got damage mitigation and fear, his ult suppresses and his Q heals him for a whole lot of health. But after the laning phase you win any duel with him (unless you mega fed him)
Kled
I have never played vs this champ. I've got nothing to say from experience. But looking at his kit, he's got good damage and CC, but once he's off his dinosaur he's dead in the water.
Wukong
The Wukong matchup is annoying, but nothing more than that. You'd think a champ with tones of mobility and CC would beat morde but he doesn't. Once he gets caught in an extended trade you'll win. Once you catch him with death realm you win. Its just the early levels when you can screw up. His level 1-3 is superior to morde's. This is where he'll play more aggressive, so don't go for trades early. Mid game you beat his *** and late game you won't meet him much unless its a team fight, but there your more concerned with the enemy carry.
Sett
This can go either way, either you get a kill and steam rolls the lane or he gets a kill and steam rolls the lane. Its extremely coinflip. Try not to die and you out scale him, but if he's mathematically correct sett he can beat you up real hard late game, but not so much mid or early, unlike regular sett.
Gnar
For Gnar to get in range of you he also risks being in mord E range. This is how you'll catch him out with your ultimate or you'll force out his E. Because of this he can't use Mega Gnar as often, so its an even match up in your favour, but a good Gnar is a pain to deal with as they have better rage management, and you don't beat mega gnar because of your mobility issues.
Volibear
Volibear is a big issue early game with his full combo. If he gets ultimate first he will use it to all in you so watch out for that. He can also tower dive you with it, however you can easily punish him for that if you have a big shield stored up. You beat him post 6.
Urgot
Urgot's got damage and range on you. But once you make that distance with him post 6 you beat him pretty easily. He can't 1v1 you mid or late game so abuse a side lane. The only reason you could lose lane is if he abuses his better early game and goes for level 1 trades or level 2 all ins.
Aatrox
Aatrox can beat you pre 6, but its not always guaranteed for him. It can really go either way at 6, but once you get rift you win any fight with him. Buy Bramble and you'll be good as gold.
Yorick
Yorick's got the same spikes as you so you can try and abuse him early and at 6. but once the laning phase is over he's gonna perch himself in a side lane and split push. However you easily beat him 1v1 with ulti when he's trying to split.
Darius
Read Aatrox's Matchup. Pretty much the same thing but Darrius scales better than Aatrox, but sacrifices mobility for it.
Gwen
Gwen is pretty easy to fight, every gwen ive come across isn't that good though because she's still new. but from my experience she loses vs mordekaiser. Her W can be annoying but other than that you outclass her in damage and kill potential. She's only really good when you're good, she builds the same items, but she's got a bad kit vs morde.
Cho'Gath
Chogath vs mordekaiser is a free lane. He can't do any damage to you and will never kill you while you can easily out damage and kill him. This can change late game but the game is generally decided by then. My tip is to abuse him in lane hard. And then take a side lane since he can't stop you by himself.
Shen
Shen can beat you early game with his taunt and W shield. But once you both hit 6, he'll be out of lane a lot, this is when you get get ahead in gold an xp. Side lane vs shen and win, but only do it post 6. Leave him pre 6.
Sion
Sion has the same issue as Chogath. He doesn't do enough damage to you to kill you, and even late game you shred him with riftmaker and demonic embrace. Its pretty much a free lane. But be aware of his split pushing ability, as he can win a game 2/15 just because of that.
Garen
Beating garen is almost as simple as playing garen. Wait for 6, all in, snowball and he becomes useless fort the rest of the game.
Irelia
Vs irelia, she basically doesn't have an ultimate as long as you have yours. Thats a big part of her kit thats pretty much nullified by your ultimate since when she uses it on summoners rift and you ult her after she's used it, it doesnt come into the death realm. You beat her in the death realm pretty easily. Be careful though, she can snowball off of just one kill and can ruin a perfectly winnable game if you make a really bad mistake.
Teemo
Teemo will beat you level 1-4 because that's how he snowballs. If you don't die within that space of time, you can easily all in him at 6 since his shrooms don't transfer to the death realm. Mitigate his poison with your W. You can also store a lot of shield against teemo because he deals tones of DOT.
Gangplank
After his mini-rework(2021), he lost his ability to bully you in lane with grasp. You don't need death realm to beat him. You out damage him and take all he dishes out. He will scale hard but by the time he becomes good, the game's already won.
Malphite
Malphite is bad vs AP champions. And with Mordekaiser being an AP champion who also builds Omnivamp, has passive magic pen, and riftmaker's true damage on top of that, malphite doesn't stand a ghost of a chance.
Renekton
Renekton as of patch 11.19 has died as a champion. The only thing he can do to you is bully you early, but even if he wins early, you still beat him mid to late game with your superior damage and agency.
Illaoi
Initially, i had an extremely hard time fighting illaoi. But then I realized her skill shots are easier to dodge than mordekaiser's, and that's saying something. You can seperate her from her passive tenticles with ultimate. You can remove her ultimate with your own. You can walk out of her E's curse without sustaining much damage. Its pretty much a free win.
Hello, I'm pretty new to this game and this is my first guide so sorry if some information is incorrect. But, I wanted to create a Mordekaiser Guide as he is my main and the champ I learnt the game on.
Here's some extra tips/info for playing Mordeakaiser:
Laning phase:
EARLY: Levels 1-6 are your weak point. Mordekaiser's early game isnt good, so this is where the enemy top will try and take advantage of you. Generally you don't want to go for trades before 6, play safe and ideally freeze wave undertower. This means last hitting only, you can last hit multiple minions with your abilities but I'd suggest just autoattacking since you don't want to accidentally shove out the wave. Keeping the wave frozen protects you from ganks and bad trades, so its your best option pre-6.
MID: Mid game (about 15-30 minutes) you want to abuse a side lane. Mordekaiser can be good in team fights but is best in small skirmishes and 1v1s, even though he doesn't destroy towers too well he has enough dueling power to put enough pressure on the map for the enemey team to send 2-3 players after you. If you have ultimate then you can go for a 1v2 but generally you want to waste as much of their time as possible so your team can go for major objectives like dragons.
LATE GAME: You want to go for team fights late game, but remember to always have ulti up otherwise you'll lose the fight. Make sure to ult the enemey backline carry, i see a lot of Mordekaiser players ulting the support just because its a free kill, but this usally loses a team fight and intern, could lead to a lost game. If you can't 1v1 the carry, don't worry, try to waste as much time as possible in the death realm. Its more important that they aren't in the team fight, and the longer you can stall for the longer your team has to fight the 4v4 (which they can usally win when the enemey doesnt have a major carry avaliable). Then once death realm is over, the enemey you ulted dies in a 1v5 or 1v4 pretty easiley. Other than team fights you just want to go for objectives and make picks on out of position opponents.

Update Log s11
11.21
Quinn nerf will have no effect on her match-up into Mordekaiser, her W is not the reason why she's dangerous into Morde.
Teemo buff doesn't really change much for Mordekaiser's match-up into him. His Q will be more annoying than before but that's not really relevant.
Goredrinker nerf is an indirect buff to Mordekaiser as some of the harder matchups like Fiora become weaker because of the changes.
Conqueror nerf makes it less dominant of a keystone overall, however as Mordekaiser you never really had trouble keeping the stacks. The less adaptive force coming from Conqueror will hurt Mordekaiser's viability, however, but not by much. You should always run this keystone into most matchups.
Health shard's buff makes it a good option into easier matchups for that scaling HP bonus, or into mixed damage matchups.
Although the domination tree secondary wasn't really viable on Mordekaiser anyway, the reduced omnivamp on ravenous hydra basically makes it completely inferior to the resolve tree secondary.
