Introduction

Alright, so this is my first build on mobafire, for my new favorite champ, Nasus. As this is my first guide, while I'm aiming to do a great job, I'm also hoping that i can learn from this, and make improved guides in the future.

Pros / Cons

Pros
-Great damage when farmed with siphoning strike
-Very durable, especially with his ultimate active
-Great lane sustain from his passive
-Powerful slow
-Dogs are cool

cons
-lacks extreme cc, only has wither
-if farmed incorrectly, he WILL lack damage output
-kiteable
-no huge counter to cc

Runes

Greater Mark of Desolation Greater seal of Replenishment
Nasus is a Tank, and is also very heavy on AD when farmed correctly.

Mana Regneration seals- in order for you, the player, to q repeatedly, you have to have the mana to keep you going, and also to make your q more powerful with minion kills.

Armor Pen Marks- When you do hit minions and champions with your q, you want maximum damage output, and while it is not enough to penetrate tanks seriously, the marks will make siphoning strike hit harder

Magic Resist glyphs- Casters are annoying, especially one like kassadin or leblanc , who can pop in, blast you, and pop out. This happens more often in late game, so magic resist per level can help.

Masteries

Not going to lie, I love the new Masteries. Thanks for the mastery advices everyone, i have decided to change into a 9 0 21. After trying it out ingame, i realized that the CD from enlightenment is very helpful, and the survivability is great from the other parts of the defensive tree.

Items

CORE ITEMS
This item is fun, you get magic reisst for sustain, and tenacity keeps you alive.
This item is amazing for everyone, but between the slow, the damage proc, movement speed, and the hp, it is amazing for nasus

Who does NOT like tons of hp and regen, and it works very well with Atma's impaler.

Between Trinity Force, Warmog's, and Nasus' ultimate, atma's gives you tons of damage, plus the armor is great for sustain.

With Force of nature, you get hp regen, magic resist, and movement speed. With Force of Nature's speed bonus, you will almost never be outran by anyone, especially if you hit them with wither.

The final push for survivability, Guardian Angel will cap off your resistances, and gives you one last chance to q someone if your teammates don't squash the people who put you down in the first place.

SITUATIONAL ITEMS

If there are extremely pesky AD carries that are taking you apart, then you should get a ninja tabi instead of merc treads, for armor and sustain.

If you are looking for extreme damage output over survivability, then sub Guardian Angel and Force of Nature With A Bloodthirster, for damage and lifsteal, and a Phantom Dancer, for move speed and criticals.

If you are getting blown down by cc left and right, and not even tenacity can save you, then Quicksilver sash can and will save you in a moment of dire need, like a suppress.

Skill Sequence

This is where your sustain comes from. It is what makes you so amazing for being solo top, because you can just lifesteal from minions with your Q, and the other Champs in your lane can only get mad at the fact that they cant keep you down on hp.

This is your number one ability. It is the source of your damage, and it works with your passive, so eat up. When used right, this ability will cause hundreds of extra damage each time you use it, and it also works with the passive of Sheen.

This is your, "YOU THINK YOU CAN GET AWAY FROM ME, IM THE JUGGERNAUT *****" ability, because no one can escape from you once it is on them. You can just run up, Q them, hit them a bit, then Q them again.

While many Nasus players, including me, prioritize this ability least, it is extremely helpful late game. All enemies in the zone lose 40 armor at max level, and then you can Q them for tons more damage than you already are.

This is where the JUGGERNAUT part came from earlier. You gain tons of maximum hp, so you can tear enemies up with Atma's , and you get a sandstorm of awesome damage around you, dealing percent damage to enemies, and giving you EVEN MORE AD in the process!

Farming

Now, I get to the most important part. In order to do large amounts of damage, YOU MUST KILL MINIONS WITH SIPHONING STRIKE. I AM NOT KIDDING. IF YOU DO NOT FARM RIGHT BY LAST HITTING MINIONS WITH YOUR Q, YOU WILL NOT DO ANY DAMAGE UNLESS YOU SUB DAMAGE ITEMS IN, AND THEN YOU WILL BE EASIER TO KILL.

Who your going to face solo top

Tryndamere is annoying, because he has a ridiculous critical strike chance, and he can sustain himself with his Q. Just avoid fighting him heavily, especially when he has his ultimate

Great. Another guy with annoying critical hits and sustain. GP is a bit easier to manage over tryndamere, Just keep him down with a few siphoning strikes.

In one way, Sion has a very large simillarity to Nasus, and that similarity is Sion gains stats from killing minions. Instead of damage, its health. Good news is, his value wont beat yours, NEVER. You just need to keep him out of farm, and you can win easily.

This doesnt really work for veigar. Im putting this in because the very first time i went up solo top, it was against veigar. To put it simply, Nasus wins. You have 0 Ap, veigar's ultimate does NOTHING.

This is hard. Singed is tough as ****, and he's got massive cc on top of it. You will NEED merc Treads , or you will be in trouble. Plus His steroid ultimate

Same Thing, Get Merc Treads, Or you will get CC'd out of your farm. Cho'Gath is huge. He has a slow and a silence. He has True damage. He can decimate minion waves. Get your Farm to the best of your ability, AND DO NOT FIGHT HIM UNLESS YOU ARE SURE YOU CAN WIN.

This guy is annoying. He has good harrassment, and super steroid for Hp and speed. He hurts, but if you are close to him, Siphoning Strike him to the face.

Ouch. Galio hurts tons. If you get Mercury's treads, His ultimate will hurt you less, but over all, he is hard to kill. When jungle ganking, he can just blast you , or escape with his speed buff , making him very hard to gank.

Team Work

Nasus is an amazing team fighter. He can initiate using a combo wither and spirit fire , basically forcing your target's team to come save him, starting the team fight, or leave your target to die, giving you at least 300 gold, and who doesn't want that? Also, Nasus' ultimate has an AOE percental damage field around him, causing damage to all foes near you.

Summoner Spells

MAIN SPELLS
Since your solo top, teleport helps you bounce back into lane before your opponents can even realize your gone! I prefer using this because I have ended up in many 2v1 scenario's, and it gives extra sustain where i need it.

When your jungler comes around for a gank, you probably wont need to use this, but it is great in case something unexpected happens. And if YOU are the unlucky one who is about to get ganked, then its time for you to ghost away ASAP.

Other viable options

DUH. FLASH IS GOOD. VERY GOOD. It may not have as much of a long term effect as ghost, but it gets the job done no matter what.

Great offense. Between this and Wither, no one can get away from you. NO ONE. Unless they are Master Yi , and just don't want slows to exist.

Ones that suck for you

Well Then! There goes all that nice lifesteal, but you should be sturdy enough to take it anyway.

Exhaust hurts you. NO MATTER WHAT. Forget ignite and losing your lifesteal, YOU CAN'T EVEN DO DAMAGE NOW, so you cant lifesteal, adn you cant run either.
