Hi everyone, in this guide, I wanna show you how I play Nidalee. I want excuse me for my bad English : if i say something strange, tell me in comments please. I don't pretend to be a top-elo player and I don't say I am the best Nidalee's player. I will show you what is, for me, the best method to play Nidalee. Pros + She is the best poker in the game. + She have a great mobility. + She is a great roamer. + Her Spear got a huge range. + Her Spear deal insane damage. + She is hard to gank.

Cons : - Hard to be useful in fight. - Skillshot champion. - Minions can block the Spear.

Offensive
More AP : always good to take.
Cooldown reduction can be nice as Nidalee.
For magic penetration, very very important as Nidalee.
Optimize damage dealt.
More AP

Increase damage dealt again.

Utility
Reduce the cooldown of Flash.
Grant you more mana.
Increase your huge mobility.
Because every casters need mana regen.
For more time with blue buff :D

With these runes, you have magic penetration, AP per levels, flat AP, but no Mana Regen.
So these runes increses your damages dealt but don't give you mana regen because you should buy a chalice early.

Prowl - (Passive) - Moving through brush increases Nidalee's movement speed by 15%. The buff lasts for an additional 2 seconds after leaving brush. + Useful for gank on other lanes faster or chase and escape.

Javelin Toss - Nidalee tosses her javelin, dealing magic damage on impact that increases depending on the distance between Nidalee and the target at the time it is hit. Bushwhack - Nidalee lays a trap that deals magic damage over 2 seconds when sprung by an enemy, revealing them and reducing their armor and magic resistance for 12 seconds. Traps last for 4 minutes. + Try to force your opponent to walk on the trap then you can deal extra damage with your spear. Base CD: 18 sec Cost: 60/75/90/105/120 Mana Range: 900

Aspect of the Cougar - Nidalee transforms herself into a cougar, and in the process gaining a new set of abilities, bonus armor, magic resistance and 20 movement speed. Nidalee loses 400 range while using this ability (effective range of 125). + Can be used to go through walls. + If you jump back after throw a spear, you can increase the destance and deal more damage. Base CD: 4 sec Cost: No mana cost Range: No range

You will need it to escape from ganks. and a summoner without flash is always the first target for the enemy jungler ;) But you can use it for jump on enemy, surprising him and get a kill.

This spell can help you to chase and escape easier. And ignite is not viable on nidalee, it's pretty useless so i take the best spell for chase and escape after flash.

Skill Order

Javelin Toss deal insane damage and have a huge range, it will be your main harass method, so max it by level 9.

Primal Surge is very useful, it grant you sustain and attack speed so i will max it by level 13.

Bushwhack is nice for be used as free wards for your laning phase and reduce armor and magic resist, it's an utility speel so i max it in last.

Start with Boots help you to escape easier from gank and dodge skillshots. The 3 Health Potion give you sustain.

For your first back, you must buy 1 Chalice of Harmony for keep harassing the enemy and get some magic resist, and the feeling of infinity mana is not so bad :p

Now, it's time to buy magic penetration..

Give you AP and AD, because you got both ratio. but it's the better way to get a max AP in a few time with the passive.

With that item, you get a huge ap boost (+90), more magic resist, mana regen and cooldown reduction.

For increase your damage, now you deal insane damages and your enemy will be really afraid of you.

With it you can destroy and poke the tank easily and OS the carry of the enemy team, it's very important, Nidalee need more magic penetration than AP.

Increase your mobility with that item, a good AP boost and again more magic resist for prevent to be burst. It allow you to backdoor and destroy turret easily.

Laning Phase

In lanning phase, you are so bad, except a bit sustain, you don't really have good abilities to lane. And more, you are a bad farmer, so if the enemy push you, you are in difficult.
So, as Nidalee, you must unpush with auto attack, and then you just have to farm until you level 6. you have 2 escape (flash and ghost) for stay alive during this hard time.
Then, when you get your level 6, you must roam at maximum, and help your lane by poking and get feed, you can easily surprise enemy with your spears and take easy kills. More you will be fed, more you will hard poke in late game and become a real problem for your enemies.

Team Phase

In team phase, your job is NOT to jump in fight and try to get kills like every other casters. your job is specific, you must do it BEFORE fight, and AFTER fight. you just need to poke enemy team and do not be engaged, a support like janna can help you to do that. Then your team will fight 4vs5 but the enemy team is low hp, so they win it easy, and after the fight, you just have to finish the one who try to run away from your team. Really, your positioning is VERY important to do well and it's hard to play Nidalee well. And many of low elo players won't understand your job, so it's better to play that champ in a decent elo (upper than 1800 i think it's ok).
