Olaf Passive Ability

The pros and cons of Olaf.

Pros

He deals hybrid damage with his true damage.
Low mana costs.
Two of his abilities don't cost mana.
Insanely strong lategame.
CC resistant ult.
Can bully most melee champs with his reckless swing and undertow
Insane steroids with which he can 1v1 other strong duelists (like nasus and jax) and come out on top

Cons

No gapclosers
No movementspeed steroids
Many people don't build Olaf right, it just hurts my eyes

Why cooldown reduction Olaf?

It does tons of damage. getting as many reckless swings off as possible is what makes olafs dps incedibly high with little to no downsides, as there are plenty of cooldown reduction items that work great on olaf, such as listed above.

Why flash over ghost?

The new olaf has enough sticking power with his axe as the slow is now 1.5 to 2.5 seconds depending on the distance of your enemy. also, the slow doesn't fade anymore, so he actually has strong cc to stick to his targets (also in this build we get triforce and frozen mallet). Olaf lacks immediate gap closers, so that's why I choose flash over ghost.

Triforce on Olaf?

Yes, with this cool down reduction build, his reckelss swing will be at a 4,8 second cooldown. ad up that the cooldown of it lowers by a second for each basic attack and two insane attack speed boosts, and you pretty much will be spamming your e every 2-3 seconds on lower health, which is insane and is just long enough to proc sheen all the time. Not to mention the other stats it gives which olaf can all make use of (except the ability power).

Your Role in teamfights

Olaf is a tanky Dps but he also excels at killing enemy ad-carries (or marksmen, if you prefer).
Therefore, your main focus must be the adc or the apc. Wait for your tank to initiate, pop your ult and walk through their frontline, throw an axe at the enemy adc, and start melting his face. As long as he dies, your job will be done.
