Oppressive In Their Face Movespeed Nami

By PyxisArrow
Disclaimer
I am NOT some challenger player that knows everything so my perspective may be flawed in respect to challenger, grandmaster, or master players. My opinion has come from my OWN experience with playing her and my OWN opinions on Nami as a character. I talk about things that I have noticed with her as I have played her enough to have mastery 7 and to develop what I think. I don't really know if this is a meta build but it sure does feel pretty good and feels better than aery Nami (which I will get into later). Anyways yea, just thought i'd throw out a disclaimer that I am not the highest level in terms of rank so I am up for CONSTRUCTIVE criticism.
Thoughts about Nami
Nami is an enchantress that has a bit of everything. She has cc and heals and a bit of damage but because of this I've noticed that her ratios and base values are pretty low compared to other enchanters that specialize in a certain thing, be it heals or damage or cc. Nami's heal and damage from her W just do not feel good to me as I've played her. Her heals are pretty unnoticeable in my opinion and her damage on W is OK. The saving grace for me is that its a pretty long-range ability that is point-and-click and the slow from her E is able to be proc'd by her W.
What made me think of this?
Luminumn made a build for her Soraka that involved building her with movement speed to be able to get away from champions that will 100-0 her. Soraka NEEDS to be alive to perform and do good, if she's dead she doesn't provide anything. I love playing Janna and I love it because shes fast and I can be in their face and be annoying with her W and autos and Q. I wanted to achieve the same thing with Janna with Nami. So with this in mind, I transferred the playstyle from Janna to Nami and made it so I can have fun with Nami (I found her extremely boring before this playstyle).
Why should you do this?
I feel like people see Nami and think that shes an enchantress and can't do **** early game, but I beg to disagree. Nami is and can be an oppressive support champion and it's enabled by this rune page and build. With this playstyle and build, Nami is good at all stages of the game. Her roaming potential becomes even better because she's faster and can be at places and do things other enchantresses can't.

In the beginning of me playing Nami, she seemed like she could not impact the game as hard as someone like Thresh or Nautilus or Alistar with mobility boots that roams around the map and gets picks because early Nami isn't great and I usually played her with lucidity boots but I wanted to make her strong early and transferred my knowledge of Janna and her laning into Nami.

Janna's early game has always been pretty bad and comes online later on but with comet and scorch and max W, Janna can perform better in the early game, same with Nami. If you go Electrocute or Comet, it helps with Nami's bad early game. By playing Nami as you would Janna, now she too can be good.

This rune page and build helps Nami's early game for a smoother transition into mid and late game. She is able to have agency in all stages as I said before.
How to stomp early game
Unless it's a hook support, you want to be in their faces abusing them whenever they walk up. You do start W so you can start doing all your abuse in lane once you reach level 2. This is a very auto-centric playstyle and you will be getting into range of some pretty scary skillshots so being able to dodge those abilities are really important and will be made easier and easier as you get items. Rushing swiftness boots helps with being able to harass and get out of range. Being a support does NOT mean you have to stay in lane all game, MAKE MOVES AROUND THE MAP (think of yourself as a 2nd jungler). The benefit of having all this movement speed is that you're able to roam and impact the map, something that lucidity boots on Nami would not be good for.

Roam to objectives, roam to lanes, roam and help your jungle invade, you need to be moving around the map, ESPECIALLY if your laner is having a slow start. Make sure to ward deep if it's safe, you are fast but you are NOT unkillable.

Also a tip, use Nami E on yourself and yourself only early game (unless a teammate needs movespeed for a situation). You can trust yourself more to use your stacks than anyone else early game. This lets you have more agency in games.

This take may be controversial but do NOT be afraid to take kills as support(unless you're with a draven). Kills on supports early game (again, unless you're with Draven), are actually better than kills on the ADC early game. Support items are much more impactful than an ADC or APC item because money on you helps EVERYONE.
How to play Mid and Late game
The playstyle is not extremely different for Nami mid and late but just make sure to be aware that everyone is much stronger now and your harass is not going to be as effective. You still want to be autoing to proc your bloodsong and try to make plays but not AS much as you would early game and roaming to lanes. By this time though you are very fast and speed = opportunities. Be VERY careful of your position, seraphs may be able to save you from some burst damage and shureyla's can help you to run away or reposition but your job now is to protect your team. Same theory as Luminum's Soraka build, you are useless if you're dead. Position well, live longer, more impact. Unlike Zyra or Brand that has some sort of presence if they're dead (whether be plants or a burn), Nami does not, you need to stay alive. Positioning Positioning Positioning, very very important
Harass Tips
Nami's most ideal harass goes E-W-auto-auto-Q. This makes use of all her E stacks and makes landing her Q easier.

E-W-Auto. This is pretty standard abuse if you're against a hook support

E-auto-Q-auto-W-auto. This is pretty good if you're good at landing your bubble but I'd prefer the first combo
Thoughts of Aery Nami
Might be a little out of the water here (pun intended, hehe) but I honestly don't really like Aery on Nami. Aery is a rune that helps you scale into late game and when combined with Gathering Storm can be okay but this build does not focus on becoming an absolute monster late its becoming a monster early so you can transition into late smoothly.

Aery benefits a lot better if the character has an inbuilt shield or is able to consistently proc it both of which, Nami does not have. Her W and E (the abilities you need to harass) do not scale down in cooldown as you level them up so its not reliable in my opinion to use aery for the it's ability to harass. Nami does not have a shield in her kit so the shield the ally gets from using the abilities on them is pretty negligible in my opinion.

This is why I feel like comet and electrocute (or even hail of blades if you wanna be frisky) is much better on her because they provide a lot of damage for Nami.
