Take this runes every time you are against an ad midlaner like Zed or Talon. Without the armor runes they will already burst/outharass you in early game and make you unable to fight.

Run with these runes against an AP mid. You can poke them easily without getting harrased to hard, also you can allow yourself a few mistakes more.

Voracity : Whenever you get a kill or an assist, your basic skills get a reset and Death Lotus Cooldown is reduced for 15 second. Try to use your Bouncing Blades at the beginning of a teamfight to get maximum resets. It also allows you to jump into 5 low life enemies alone, if you trigger your Death Lotus and jump around, it's a garuanteed pentakill!

Bouncing Blades : This is bread and butter for Katarina! It's poke and burst at the same time. Try to combo in Lane with Sinister Steel to proc the mark it gives so enemy will take hugh damage.

Sinister Steel : It allows you easy farming under tower if you use it right. Also it has no cast time and if you hit anything with it you get movement speed. So use it when you get chased and your enemy is hanging on your back.

Shunpo : Needed for jumping into fight and escape. You can jump on allies, enemies, any ward, any minion and neutral monster. It's useful in lane if you combo it with your warding trinket for a jump back to tower.

Death Lotus : When you use Death Lotus you spin around yourself and deal damage to at max three enemie champions at the same time over 2,5 seconds. Use it whise since its cooldown and damage got nerfed, but it's still a pretty strong ability! Best is when you use it in combo with your Shunpo so you get as near as possible to your enemie.

Max Bouncing Blades for maximum burst potencial and poke.
Sinister Steel will make it easier for you to farm and combo harras your lane opponent.
Skill Death Lotus when ever you can.

Death Lotus > Bouncing Blades > Sinister Steel > Shunpo

We need this item for the movement speed it gives and the magic penetration.

Great sinergy with your combo burst! Just take care of not using it while you use Death Lotus because it will interrupt it.

Great against ad lane opponents! Also use it when you are low life and waiting your team to give you resets.


For maximum damage and burst potencial, most necessary item!


If enemies try to counter you through magic resistance, this will help you in fight like no other item could do! If the magic resistance from the enemies is really high, it's sometimes even more useful than rabadons!


Great Sinergy with Death Lotus, because it slows than! It also makes you a little bit tanky, with Zhonya's Hourglass in combination you are very hard to kill for AD carrys and lane opponets!
You can also get a Guardian Angel as sixth item.
