Introduction

Introduction

// Hello everyone! Blalthazar here, bringing you a fun and deadly guide on the champion Teemo. This is my very first guide, so be nice! Teemo is one of my favorite champions. He brings so much to the team. Whether it is lane protection via mushroom placement, escape routes, blind, or carry damage, he can really do it all. Many of the builds out there focus on his poison potential and attack damage(AD). Today I will detail my take on a powerful, BALANCED all-out-attack style build, focusing on attack speed, and Ability Power(AP), and life steal/spell vamp.

I have also been developing a support build for Teemo. It is still under construction, but it is very fun and viable thus far in testing, so click the second Teemo build and give it a shot!

Just a quick FYI: I would like to point out that BOTH builds are still in EXPERIMENTAL stages. Do not use them in ranked games if you are worried about your ELO. Please give them a try in normal games.

// I would like to thank Lastsamurai7 for helping me, and Shoyu for doing some testing.

Build 1 vs. Build 2

Builds

Build #1
The first Teemo build is the one I use on the daily, and the one most suited to dealing damage. Please use this build if you want to get kills with your pipe and posions. It, in essence, uses attack speed for Toxic Shot application and some lifesteal for survivability. Its the standard of this guide.

Build #2
The second build is currently a work in progress, which I will detail more later in a separate section. It is a "FUN" guide, designed for a "support" Teemo. Weird, I know. Support Teemo comes packed with survivability, Coold Down reduction, and lots of annoyance for your enemies. This build can still get you kills, and a LOT of assists if played correctly. More importantly, your team will love you for all the benefits you will bring for them, and the opposing team will hate you for the same reason. Play this build if you want to really try something new, and you dont want to be the standout killer, but more the silent supporter.

Masteries

Masteries

Although most builds focus on the Defense tree to counteract Teemo being very squishy, I am using this build as a fun poison attack guide. I am utilizing as much damage as possible to burn foes early game, and then build up life steal to go toe to toe with most enemies mid-late game. This will also provide Teemo with more survivability and resilience in the lane. Therefore I went with as much in the Offense tree as sanely possible, with a little bit of "Quality-of-life" Utility points.

Runes

Runes

  • greater quintessence of alacrity: For the purpose of this build we want as much attack speed as possible for the application of Toxic Shot and physical damage for life steal.
  • greater mark of alacrity
  • greater glyph of insight: To make our poisons hit harder!
  • greater seal of alacrity

Summoner Spells

Summoner Spells

[ghost]: // Used for staying with the target to finish them off, or to escape.
space
[ignite]: // To finish off that last bit of health. DOTs for ALL!
space
[flash]: // Very popular choice for most champions. An instant blink to safety or to get a kill.

I use and . If you want an all out damage summoner spell set then go with and . may be used for quality of life and preference, although I don't recommend it.

Ability Sequence

Ability Sequence Order

> > >

// I have listed these in order of what I feel is the most important sequence.
~ Noxious Trap: is the key to your survivability and the usefulness of your team. They also provide a healthy amount of damage and annoyance.
~ Toxic Shot: is the source of your damage. You will need to max this skill first. It is our DOT for goodness sake!
~ Move Quick: is another survival skill. I max this second so Teemo can be as mobile as possible, as soon as possible. It is great for escaping or chasing down foes.
~ Blinding Dart: is the last on my list in the sequence, but the first skill I pick up. I do this for the blind it provides. An awesome way to save team mates, or yourself, from that obnoxiously strong Attack Damage champion. I have seen it turn the tide of many battles. The damage is mediocre for this build, so I max this skill last.

Additional Info

Item Choice Breakdown

~I chose these items in particular to provide synergy with what I feel is best for a balanced all-out-attack. They provide early survivability, ease of harassment, and good farming capabilities.

~The Attack Speed provides even BETTER farming and application of Toxic Shot. The life steal will give you a slight boost in survivability and more resilience in the lane. Not to mention the synergy it has with the Offensive masteries.
Brief Play Style Explanation

~To me, your awareness, shroom placement, blind, amazing speed, ghost, move quick, communication with your team mates, and life steal should be MORE than enough to provide mid-late game survivability.

~Remember, you will often times be focused first in a team fight. Dont be afraid to RUN AWAY, or back off to your mushrooms while your team moves in to intercept them. Once you are no longer the focus of 2-5 champions, move back in and wreak havoc.

~Teemo's passive truly is amazing. It is awesome for that unsuspecting solo laner, or a way to hide and scout out an area while enemies run past without even the slightest knowledge you are/were there. I personally love the after affect (temporary attack speed increase) that it provides. It is incredible early game to surprise your enemy and quickly lower their health or kill them.

~Mushroom placement.
I will not go into much detail here, due to Ferrovial having an amazing explanation in his Teemo guide. I implore you all to look at it and observe its amazingness.
I will say one thing: Please do not be afraid to place mushrooms either in the middle of a lane, or outside of brush! Mushrooms are plentiful and extremely versatile. They can be used as much more than just a ward in a bush. Some examples would be: slowing down and destroying a minion wave on their way to your tower, creating an effective escape route by slowing down an enemy OUTSIDE of brush, etc...

Conclusion and Summary

Conclusion and Summary

This build is aimed for players that want to have fun with Teemo. It has the potential to carry a team to victory. You will most likely die multiple times if you play it poorly or use Teemo for the first time. That being said, you still have the ability to never die and get many kills, assists or both. This guide is almost like a "How to help your team and annoy the opposing team" manual.

I did not go into a ton of detail in this guide. For more information on this champion please search out the many well written guides already published on this website :D

THIS IS AN EXPERIMENTAL BUILD! Please, do not take this guide too seriously as of yet. If you want to play a ranked game or use the most optimal build out there, I suggest something else for the time being. As of now, I recommend this guide to be mainly suited for normal games in which one would like to try something new with Teemo. If you try it and would like to leave feedback or constructive commentary, please feel free.
