Hello and welcome to the Guardian Aatrox Guide, where I shall show you a new path of Aatrox. Now from looking at the core items, I know what you are thinking. Why are they all offensive items? Well many people underestimate Aatrox's offensive side, I believe that he was made to be built a strong and less tanky champion such as Tryndamere and Riven. During this Guide I shall show you what Aatrox is really capable of. Let's role!

Pros:
- High Damage and Attack Speed
- Great Passive
- Good Initiation and Escape
- High Sustain and High Damage Toggle
- Monstrous Tower Destroyer
- Good Crowd Controls
- Both Physical and Magic Damage
- Easy to Learn

Cons:
- Big Counter Victim
- Squishy
- High Cooldown

Using offensive masteries will be the best choice either going my style or tanky Aatrox style, he needs to deal damage because tank Aatrox is a waste of potential strength.

Attack Speed and Life Steal Runes will definitely help him a lot more, but only this time I do recommend using Armor and Magic Resist runes for there you do need some sort of defense.

Flash will work great along with Dark Flight for escaping, while Ignite will make a good kill secure while fighting.

Okay so the items are mainly focused for Attack Speed, Damage, and Life Steal. With these three traits, Aatrox can become a furious fighter and a great duelist.

Rushing Ravenous Hydra will get you good amount of CS, even if you lose lane you will catch up in CS with this item. Not only does it help you get more CS, it also gives Life Steal, Damage and Health Regeneration, for more power and sustain.

After Ravenous you would likely want to get your Berserkers Greaves, do not follow the recommended and get Ninja's Tabi, greaves will help your Attack Speed boost up high during early game.

Okay so your next item will be Blade of the Ruined King, why? Riot probably made this item just for Aatrox (Joke) because it seems so perfect for him. Life Steal, Attack Speed, Damage, and an active effect. Getting Blade of the Ruined King will boost your sustain even more, so you will likely to die less. This is the replacement of being tanky, relying on your Attack Speed and Life Steal will get you almost, maybe even surpass the chances of staying alive as if you go tank!

Okay so after Blade of the Ruined King, guess what you need. More Sustain and Damage? The perfect item to grant that? The Bloodthrister, it even looks like Aatrox's sword (Not). Get it to get more damage and life steal.

After your final item of Life Steal, during mid game is where you need more attack speed. Zephyr, grants a high amount of attack speed, also reduces cool down reductions which is one of my Aatrox's cons.

Your last item should be Last Whisper. Why? It has Last in the name, that's why. Okay maybe it's because during really late game, if you are fed and get full build before other people, you would probably want Last Whisper because people will be building armor to go against you, and you do not want those counter items like Randuin's Omen or Sunfire Cape coming at you.

Optional very last item is the most troll ever, Guardian Aatrox! Trust me, if you actually make it to this point, you have succeed with Aatrox with his true skill and potential powers.

Tips:

- Use Blades of Torment to Harass your opponents in lane.
- Use Blood Price after you get all of your Life Steal Items, they will be enough to recover you from Blood Price's self damage.
- Use Dark Flight to engage fights
- Combo for one versus one is Q, R, E and use your blood price whenever you want to fight.
