The Resolve tree is very important on Pyke, Aftershock gives him enough tankyness to survive a full dive. Demolish turns his kill lead into a tower lead slowly snowballing the game. Second Wind works wonders with his passive and gets him back in the fight quicker. Unflinching help for escaping sticky situations since Pyke has low base HP it is important to be able to have the tenacity to get out of sticky cc. Some people chose to revitalize on Pyke because they think it will heal him even more, however that is not how it works. It will still heal the exact same amount of HP if you were to not take the rune.

For secondary runes, I chose Precision. From there on I take Presence of Mind and Tenacity, Presence of Mind on Pyke is absolutely insane, it has a higher R uptime than Ultimate hunter, with every kill/assist giving you mana and R CD it is absolutely insane. Pyke is a very mana hungry champion, so this helps him stay in the game. It also helps him prep for the next team fight with his R being up in maybe 40 or so seconds right after one. that being said if you are extremely unconfident in your play you can choose to go Domination secondary with Sudden Impact and Ultimate Hunter. We take tenacity for the same reason we take unflinching for sticky situations you can't just E out of. Some people prefer Coup De Grace, however, it adds almost zero extra dmg to your R, so at that point it's just a waste of a rune slot.

Ignite + Flash is a staple on Pyke. Ignite is very useful for its grievous wounds if you ignite an ADC before clicking R the chance of them surviving it with their heal is lowered by a lot. Flash is also standard on Pyke, letting you get longer Es and do the E flash combo when you E to stun one target, and right as it hits them flash onto the next target, stunning in a 90-degree angle.

Currently, coin is a better start than the shield, against many poke lanes coin is better so you don't have to constantly step up. the mana coin is very useful for Pyke's mana heavy play style and lets you play safe. However in a hard winning lane, you might want shield, it will give you health back and promotes an aggressive playstyle of playing up and walking up constantly. You will want to upgrade your supp item once early game, because Pyke does NOT scale with HP items, so it is a waste you only upgrade it once so you get the wards to place down. From there on you want to rush Mobility boots, this should be around the time you are nearing LVL 6 to help your roams be more effective. Serrated dirk is the next item you should build. Whenever buidling lethality on pyke you should ALWAYS get serrated dirk first, your E stun time and W speed scales with lethality, making it more worth thant he 10% CDR from hammer. Rush Dusk first to have more vision control around bot lane.

After you finish your core of Duskblade to Ghostblade go for one Serrated dirk into BF sword, you want to build it into a Guardian Angel and then finish serrated to Edge. The reason is the Edge active is a lot less useful than the Guardian Angel passive. and you already have all the lethality you need by the time you build Edge.

Tank items such as black clever and deadmans are popular on Pyke but NOT good, they give him nothing that he needs. Spirit visage is also one of these traps for new players. The spirit visage passive does NOT buff Pyke's passive making it a useless item when Maw exists.

You can tell if a bush is warded or not by taking damage on purpose and walking into the bush. If you regenerate health it is not warded, if you aren't it is.

This is because Pyke can only regenerate out of the enemy's sight.

Don't always use your R as a execute, you can use it to get a bigger E, by E+Ghostblade+W+R you can get your E to cover almost all of the river depending on if your R lands.

Always try to get your ADC to use ultimates, ask Jinx to R them to get them into execute range, most don't expect it, ask a Jhin to R to make them move into hook range, or Ashe to R to make it easier to hit and so on. Always think about how can you and your ADC combo to get kills and snowball lane.
