Hi, my real name is Sean and I have been playing league for about a year and a half now. I’ve played Jungle since the very beginning. I’m currently Platinum on pace to hit diamond by the end of the year. I also enjoy writing and performing music along with cubing. Gaming has always been a passion for me since I can remember. As I got older League became my favorite game to play more than anything else. I hope to one day go professional with and play on the LCS stage.

This guide is on my favorite champion Kayn. Kayn is the perfect champion for climbing any elo. He is incredibly fun to play at a high level and is easy to pick while having an incredibly high learning curve which makes him fun to one trick. This guide will specifically cover the red form as I believe it to be far stronger than the blue form. I will cover multiple runes, builds, skill order and playstyle. Whether this is your first time playing Kayn and you're reading this in loading screen or you're getting the hang of him after a few games this guide is for you.

Red Kayn is a semi tank carry jungler with insane playmaking potential. He excels at diving the enemy team's back line and power farming the jungle. He's great at stealing objectives with his ability to stall and great mobility. Kayn is very fun to play and master with him being easy to understand on the surface with so many sub levels of mechanics. He is perfect for any situation and gives an insane amount of utility, map presence and damage to your team.

Kayn doesn't have super difficult mechanics when it comes to combos, he is more about Crowd Controlling multiple targets at once and sustaining through teamfights. Once you have bought Black Cleaver and have transformed into Rhaast hitting multiple targets with Q and W to cut down armour is super important in teamfights. After auto attacking you can use reaping slash or blades reach to have an animation cancel. Chilling Smite can be used to prock Kayn's ultimate along with all of Kayn’s other abilities. To recap in fights try to deal as much area of effect damage as possible and animation cancel whenever you can.

Early game

Kayn isn't as bad early as people think he is, however he certainly isn't strong. He loses most skirmishes unless you can find an advantage. His ganks aren't great either if your teammates don’t have good set up. Try to rely on farming and counter jungling instead of playing like Xin or Lee Sin. In order to get form you are going to have to fight eventually. Focus melee lanes closer to mid game but early on try to just get orbs.



Mid Game


Mid game is where Kayn comes online. Aim to get form pre 10 mins which should usually be doable. Try to focus objectives post laning phase, taking the first three outer turrets and picking up Drakes and Rift Herald will give your team a huge advantage. Try to have a CS lead but prioritize objectives and grouping.


Late Game

Kayn is one of if not the best Jungler late game. At this point you should have 40CDR and massive healing. Stealing Baron is really safe with shadow step and your many escapes. Focus on diving their back line and if possible using your ult on tankier targets. Remember you are one of your teams biggest carries

Overall when mastered, Kayn is an astonishing carry with everything in his kit. Remembering who to focus in teamfights with proper rotations will certainly lead to victory screens.
