Introduction

Recently I started making guides again. The last one was Irelia which can be found here “Highlight Link” and I want to consistently make new guides.
After I retired from professional play I started doing educational content on my stream and youtube channel, now I would like to use the knowledge I gathered over the years to share with you guys, in the form of guides.
If you find my content helpful and consider supporting me you could always drop by my Twitch and Youtube channel or if neither is something for you, you can always help me out by supporting me on Patreon, and together we will decide what kind of content I will be focusing the majority of time on.

Summoner Spells

Renekton Flash is overpowered and it's used on almost every single champion. Renekton is one of the champions that greatly benefit from Flash and it's a wonderful feeling to Flash Ruthless Predator someone.
Teleport: All top laners currently need teleport because it's simply the best. You can get away with using Ignite on Renekton, but that's only if the enemy makes mistakes. It's a double edged sword to try out Ignite.

Runes

Conqueror / PTA Use Conqueror vs tanky champions that generally tend to build armor. The likes of Mundo, Maokai, Malphite and so on.
You should run Press The Attack against champions that generally don't buy a lot of armor. Those champions would include Kled, Fiora.
Triumph Clearly the best rune in this tree and there's no reason to ever take others. Renekton will be often find himself low on health and the sustain is nice after killing someone or getting an assist.
Legend: Tenacity I believe this is the best rune in this tree, but you could also make an argument for Alacrity. Tenacity is amazing against anything that have stuns, but if you find yourself against a team with 0 cc you could go for Alacrity.
Last Stand Another tree where you could argue to take Coup De Grace, but I feel like Renekton will often find himself at low health numbers while fighting opponents. I seem to have more success using Last stand, but you can go either one.
Sorcery: I like to play an aggressive stlye early game and Sorcery spec works perfect with that. If you are against the likes of Kennen and Gnar you could go Resolve, but I find it unnecessary against most champions.
Celerity: You are the lane bully and you will dominate the opponent. Movement sped and Damage from Celerity helps you do that. The movement speed is the most important part.
Scorch: As the lane bully that extra 20 damage is gonna be neat. Could potentially get you a few extra kills which might end up letting you snowball and win the game.

Spells

Reign Of Anger: Renekton's whole kit is revolved around his Rage system. You get 5 rage from basic auto attacks and a bit from abilities depending on how many you hit.

The most important part of the rage system is knowing that Q is generally the best ability to spend Rage on in 1v1 situatiions unless you're trying to kill the opponent.

W is best if you're trying to kill the opponent as it increases the stun time and also does the most damage.

E is the best to spend Rage on in teamfights if you need to lower the enemies Armor. It's 35% at max level which is a crazy amount of armor that you shred.

Cull the Meek the most used Renekton ability. You need to perfect the range of this ability because during the laning phase you can use it just outside of the opponent auto attack range. Gives you a huge advantage by being able to hit them without the enemy being able to hit back.

One very important thing about Cull the Meek is that you need to use it not only for damage, but also for healing. Most people tend to not use this ability enough on creeps and ends up with lower health than they could have had.

Ruthless Predator is often a misused ability because people often forget to weave in auto attacks before using it. The most optimal combo is Auto -> Ruthless Predator (W) -> Dominus (R)

I have personally noticed that people are afraid to use this ability to CS with during the laning phase, but you really shouldn't. If you are against a ranged matchup or someone that you won't fight in the near future simply use it to farm for faster farming and more rage for your Cull Of The Meek (Q) healing

Slice and Dice (E)People tend to under use this ability. It's an ability I think you should use first and question your decision later.

In general to properly use Slice and Dice you want to preemptively think about what the enemy is going to do so you simply have to execute it. For example let's say you are playing against a Gangplank and he's putting down a Barrel. You know he's going to try and hit you with a second barrel, but you can dodge that by simply E'ing away.

The strongest point of Slice and Dice (E) Is teamfights. It reduces an astonishing 35% AOE Armor at level 5 which is absolutely insane in teamfights. You want to try and use Enraged Slice and Dice for the teamfights especially against tanks.

Dominus (R) Straight forward ability. Use it to either all in the enemy or escape them due to the health gain. You get a little bit of Attack Range and 20 fury which is nice.

Items

Starting Items

Doran's Shield is generally the best in most matchups. It's good against Ranged champions because they constantly poke you with low amounts of damage and it's perfect against Melee champions because you tend to out sustain them with Doran's shield. It also helps you if they're putting jungle pressure on you because it gives a little bit of sustain which can keep you in the lane.

Doran's Blade is an item that I generally think is inferior to Doran's Shield on Renekton. You could use Doran's Blade if you have an easy matchup and the stronger jungler, but overall I would just go for shield most of the time.

Boots: Ninja Tabi's is generally the item you go for on Renekton unless there's a very good reason not to. It's great against most top laners you will face and it helps versus the enemy ADC and most junglers that you end up against.

Mercury Treads: You should only buy Merc's if you really need to. For example you are against a full AP team or a ton of CC.

Items:

Tiamat: Only buy if you need it to win the laning phase, need a damage item with health Regen or want to constantly push in and make pressure elsewhere.

Essence Reaver: Personally my favorite Item on Renekton and I run it almost every single game. The only reason you wouldn't buy Essence Reaver is if you are against a lot of tanks and you really need to be tanky after buying Black Cleaver. I mostly end up buying Essence Reaver first item.

Black Cleaver: I tend to not buy Black Cleaver anymore as I prefer Essence Reaver, but it's still a stable on Renetkon. Great first item against Tanks and heavy tank setups.

Randuins: Perfect buy for Renekton with Essence Reaver. The slow is super useful to keep the enemies close while you spam Auto Attacks on them to reset your cooldowns due to the Passive of Essence Reaver. It's also a great item against Crit ADCs so if they have one of those you generally want to buy it, but if they don't there might be other options.

Spirit Visage: A perfect third item for Renekton because it's generally the only Magic Resistance Item that you will buy on Renekton. Also the Healing aspect of Spirit Visage works wonderfully with Cull The Meek
