Lich Bane is probably a poor choice, even as an alternate, you are correct. Initially I thought it might be useful with Ice Shard, especially given the long cooldowns of Ring of Frost and Glacial Path. But by the time you build Lich Bane, your spells should have a high enough rank that the CD isn't quite so bad. Plus, some CDR makes it a non-issue.
I had originally put Athene's Unholy Grail into the build, but eliminated it after playing a PvP game because I didn't think that mana was actually that bad of an issue in the late game. I will have to play a few more games to confirm. Either way, it's hard to say no to that much MP5 and CDR!
Thank you for the tip around starting items... the Faerie Charms would definitely help with the early game mana issues. Lissandra has enough mobility anyway, with Glacial Path and Flash.
Again, thank you so much for the feedback! I will try to polish and perfect the primary build!
First off, Rylai's Crystal Scepter is just not viable on Lissandra. The slow is minimal and doesn't offer much, as you also have a gap closer, root, stun, and slow. If you are looking for the health bonus, Rod of Ages is a much better item since it gives 150 more health AND 650 mana, plus the same amount of AP.
Secondly, Lich Bane is not viable either. At all. You almost never want to stop and hit off an autoattack on Lissandra, so the passive just gets wasted.
Third, you don't have Athene's Unholy Grail anywhere in your guide. This is one of, if not THE, core item(s) on Lissandra. It offers Magic Resist, a ton of mana regeneration, and 20% cooldown reduction, which she desperately needs. You should include this in your guide most definitely. Deathfire Grasp only offers 10% cooldown reduction, and, if you want to be the LEAST bit offensive in lane, Athene's Unholy Grail is a must.
You should also include Abyssal Mask in your guide somewhere, as it's a very beneficial magic penetration item.
Boots + 3X health potions is just not a viable start for her at all. You run into major mana problems, which means sustain problems. More viable is Faerie Charm, 3 Health pots, 2 Mana pots and a ward, or 2x Faerie Charms plus 3x Health potions. Boots + 3x Health Potions is just not as much a viable start anymore.
As for the comments below
- Bought Lissandra!
- Played one game vs AI!
- Guide creation!
- Sleep deprivation!
If you have only played two games with her, you should be looking at a guide, not writing a guide. The fact where you said you haven't tried out Lich Bane but recommend it says a good chunk of it. You need to have your build tested massively and whatnot before you write a guide.
2 Games does not constitute enough time spent with a champion to write a guide, as a good chunk of the people reading this have played her the same amount. Please spend WAY more time playing and testing her before you write a guide. You should, imo, archive this until you have ample time playing her and knowing how she works BEFORE you suggest things to other players. The fact that you've said in your guide that you have not tested some of the stuff on Lissandra only strengthens that fact. Add more pictures, more coding, and test more.
P.S. I will also say, first guide is not an excuse. That's all I have. Please test more and make LOTS of changes.
Meiyjhe: health regen seals??? How did those get in there?!?! Thanks for pointing them out! Also, I wasn't sure if enforcing comments to vote was acceptable on Mobafire (my first guide, ya know). I'll switch it on! As for alternatives, I'll fill some in!
Bioalchemist: not joking, just being honest. :-p
Thanks everyone! Now, time to make some edits...

you are joking? or just honest?
1. No comment to vote
2. Health regen seals
3. No alternative summoner spell, runes or masteries mentioned
Thy blessing
1. Well structured cheatsheet
2. Overal decent build
3. All basics included
4. Good use of structure, okay use of coding
5. Good use of explanation
Result: Path of the Successor
It's pretty good :D
I was on the edge of giving you a Path of the Student, but you just made it :P
The build and the guide itself are both decent, still, there can be improvement.
Seals might be better of as health or even as armor :D
Your explanations are fine, but I'd love to see some more alternatives in between.
And those were my main points :D
Have fun :D
