Cons
- Great Harass - Lulu is the support with the most consistent harass in patch 7.7. Her trading combo is strong and can easily proc thunderlords.
- Bursty - In lane Lulu is extremely bursty. Her E does an unexpected amount of damage that demands respect in lane.
- Slippery - Lulu's kit is loaded with abilities that make her slippery. Her Q is a slow, her W can speed her up, and her E is a shield. She also has a knockup on her ult. A great Lulu player will only die a few times a game on Lulu, which can make an early Dark Seal worth it.
- Great Peel - Lulu's W is arguably the most reliable CC in the game. Put it on the pesky Ekko that's trying to kill your ADC and he's as good as dead.
- Good at sieging - Lulu's W offers an attack speed bonus to any ally you put it on. Put this on your ADC while sieging and you'll tear down turrets.
Cons
- Her abilities are situational - You are able to cast Lulu's W and E on allies and enemies. This can make it hard to pick her up and instantly dominate. Playing Lulu at a high level requires good decision making and knoweldge of her kit.
- Mana hungry - In lane Lulu can get very mana hungry. While Spelltheif's Edge gives you extra mana regeneration you still need to manage your mana.
- Weak against long range poke comps - Even though Lulu is a very strong laner she has trouble dealing with supports who outrange her like Zyra or Brand.

The attack speed bonus on Lulu's W and autoattack enhancer on her E make her synergize well with any ADC that abuses attack speed. Lulu goes very well with ADC's like Draven, Kog'Maw, and Twitch who are squishy and rely heavily on their auto's. She can keep them alive, empower them, and peel for them since they have relatively low mobility.
While Lulu is great with autoattackers, she isn't great with ADC's that attack mainly with their abilities like Jhin and Ezreal. This isn't to say that you will lose lane if you take Lulu with Jhin, you are just missing out on Lulu's full potential as a support. If given the option, you should always take Lulu with Draven, Twitch, or anyone on the Broken section of the tier list.
NOTE - Lucian is an ability based ADC, but his passive synergizes well with Lulu's auto enhancers. That combined with the fact that Lucian is very strong right now puts him on the Broken Tier.

When you play Lulu support or any support for that matter, you have 2 choices when it comes to your Summoner Spells. You can either take Flash and Exhaust or Flash and Ignite.
After Exhaust was nerfed in Patch 7.5 most high elo support mains stopped taking it every game. Ignite simply gives you more laning presence than exhaust, and can make a summoner spell like heal less useful in a 2v2. Below is an example of me using Ignite and Lulu's burst to my advantage because Jinx wasn't respecting me. If I had exhaust here I wouldn't have got the kill.
You should only take exhaust if the enemy team composition demands it. While exhaust isn't as strong in 2v2's anymore it's still a great anti-burst tool and can be effective against assassins. Lulu offers a lot of peel and landing her polymorph on an enemy renders them worthless for a few seconds, sometimes that just isn't enough and you need to take exhaust as a precautionary measure. Here are some examples of when to take exhaust over ignite.

- The enemy team has a Zed and a Rengar (or any combination of 2 or more assassins)
- There is a late game hyper carry like Vayne and your team has little to no CC
- Your team comp is very squishy and the enemy team has a top tier assassin.
