9/17/2011: Guide Released

Hello and welcome to my guide on Riven The Exile. I enjoy Riven Because shes great at sneaking in and pouncing on enemies and escaping from them too. she has great harassing abilities early game even tho she has low health. With this guide i will show you how to build an effective Riven for offense and map control.

I will be Frapsing myself playing Riven and linking it here to show you some good rotation use and ideas.

Runes are mostly decided by the player but this is what i have found to work the best.
Greater Mark of Desolation
standalone the best Mark for AD Champs

the best Seal for melee champs i believe. nothing wrong with dodging there attacks will you plow into them. i know its only 6.75% but you wouldn't believe how often it happens.

Most melee champs fall to AP champs early game so i use these to help gank mid and keep me in lane longer with AP champs.

OR

If you feel good about fighting AP Champs you can use These. Riven is kinda Cooldown dependent.

Every time i play Riven people always ask me why i get Trinity Force first and not The Black Cleaver . this is simple early game Riven is not an auto attack champ. Her damage mostly comes from her passive Runic Blade It adds damage to her attack as well as the effect from Sheen used in Trinity Force, Its almost crit damage at the start.
Next the the The Bloodthirster its the only Vamp item you get with a lot of damage. it also forces you to minion farm getting you more gold for later items.
Phantom Dancer by the time this item rolls around you should be doing pretty well on your own this will help you chase better and land some nice crits more often.
most of my games end by here but ive gone to full builds with Riven before so i grab these 2 to rap things up first
Infinity Edge for the 80% crit rate and massive damage increase and 250% crit strikes. a good all around item for AD Champs.
The Black Cleaver your pretty much an auto attack champ by here just using your abilities to get passive and slow down champs for killing blows.

First burst goes like this
>> Attack >> >> Attack >> >> Attack >> >> Attack >> >> Attack
This is the smoothest run i could find it maxes damage and rotates attacks into each skill for passive damage. Only use ulti when you are positive you can get the kill or really close to the kill. also i use my ulti to attack week enemies in turrets porting back really pisses them off.

Well i use flash for Melee Champs cause it helps in the escape most people say Riven dosent need flash but when your stuck between 2 champs and a wall flash to the other side of the wall. also helps with those pickup kills.
Ignite helps with healing. really messes them up. also can be used for early firstblood.
