Introduction - WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS?!, About me :3, and when to pick
ABOUT ME:

Been playing League since May, 2012.
Going 3-3 in placement on ranked, but LeaverBuster fixed it to 3-1 because our APC left each time.

This is my first ever guide anywhere, so please leave me comments and suggestions so I can keep improving this and future guides!
And that's about it.
ON TO THE WHY!
"

I cannot stress enough that there really is NO direct counter to

I would NOT advise this build in ranked matches, unless you KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING!!! Playing

Proof it works:

When to pick! IMPORTANT!

PRO'S:
- OUTSTANDING push and harass
- FREE facecheck with
- EASY last hitting with Ghouls
- INSANE poke damage with W
- E
combo!
- EXTREMELY powerful mid-game due to game changing ult
- AMAZING passive
gives great sustain
- HIGH defence with
and his general "Bruiser Tankiness"

CON'S:
- EXTREMELY low mana in early game
- SUPER farm dependent, if you have to face a
-
combo, you are screwed
- COMMUNICATION REQUIRED with your support. If you are >>>Skyping<<< with them, even better. I CAN NOT STRESS HOW IMPORTANT THE COMMUNICATION WITH THE SUPPORT IS! HE NEEDS TO KNOW WHEN YOU ARE POKING VS ENGAGING, WHEN TO USE EXHAUST OR KNOCKUPS OR GRABS
- Due to being a toplaner he has LOW RANGE on his shovel slapping AA.
- MODERATELY low range on his abilities. Especially his Q
which is on hit.

Pretty self-explanatory passive. The more ghouls you have, the more damage you do and the less damage you take. Also, the ghouls have 35% of your AD and health.

This skill seems to go under the radar for most

Yorick summons a Decaying Ghoul that arrives with a violent explosion, dealing 60/95/130/165/200 (+100% of ability power) magic damage and slowing nearby enemies by 20/25/30/35/40% for 1.5 seconds. While the Decaying Ghoul remains alive, nearby enemies continue to be slowed by 10/12.5/15/17.5/20% for up to 5 seconds.

WARNING! MAKE SURE TO USE YOUR

This is where the fun part begins. If you don't enjoy stomping on the enemy
regardless of what she builds to counter you, then you won't truly enjoy Yorick in bottom lane. The item build depends COMPLETELY on your team composition and how their ADC is building. Either they will be doing their standard ADC FOR EVERYONE GUIDE build, or they will be trying to counter you. So let's get to it!
OPTION 1:
EXPLANATION:
OPTION 2:
EXPLANATION:
As for spells, I would suggest standard

OPTION 1:
This is what I build in most matches, meaning I have a bruiser top, tanky jungle, and a standard ADC who is versing me in bottom.
Item Sequence

Manamune
2900

Ionian Boots of Lucidity
900

Black Cleaver
3000

Spirit Visage
2700

Trinity Force
3333

Iceborn Gauntlet
2900
EXPLANATION:
- We will start
Doran's Shield. Yes, I know "Doran items are for noobs, not worth it. Must sell!" Remember, you are in BOTTOM LANE, meaning their ADC will be hitting you with autoattacks for most of that damage. If you get early armor and health, you will be able to shrug off those early AA's until you and your support get into the swing of things. The issue with this item is that it takes up ALL your starting money, meaning you need to be VERY careful not to run out of mana.
- On the first back you SHOULD have enough gold to buy
Manamune. If not, get
Sapphire Crystal and buy
Manamune the next time you back. This item is key. YOU MUST GET THIS ITEM! There is no way around it. Yorick is too mana dependent for farming in bottom lane. If you are lucky, you jungler will let you get blue buff, but that is not always a given.
-
is SLOW, so
Ionian Boots of Lucidity should be your next buy. The cooldown reduction is essential due to
Yorick's dependence on his Q-W-E's. This, with
Manamune will give you strong harass in bottom lane.
- On your third, fourth, and maybe fifth time back, you should start working on your
The Brutalizer and then build it into a
Black Cleaver. This item works on almost every champion and is currently so broken. You should have this around 25 minutes MAX. Early game should be in full transition to mid-game, and you need to be ready to fend off ganks and be ready for team fights at this point.
- Why
Spirit Visage? I thought we were the ADC?! Well, you ARE, but as I've stressed before,
Yorick should be picked with other bruiser champions. You CANNOT rely on
to do ALL the damage like a standard ADC would. You still have to put SOME sustain on him. Plus,
CDR is awesome on
.
- If you need that little extra cash to rush the
Zeal, then it's ok to sell your
Doran's Shield. You should be aiming to getting that
Trinity Force right now. It is an overall useful item that will give you EVERYTHING
needs. HP, SLOW, AP, CRIT and all that good stuff. IN ONE ITEM?! AWESOME!!
- The final item to this build is situational! I prefer
Iceborn Gauntlet due to its CDR and mana. The team is most likely focusing you, or bashing their faces on the keyboard because they don't know WHO to focus! With this item blue buff won't even be necessary in late game! And all that piled up CDR will have you summoning ghouls left and right. You will be hitting HARD and you will have soooooooo much sustain now.
OPTION 2:
Is their ADC trying to be mean? Is he buidling ARMOR?! Is their whole team cowering behind
Doran's Shields? HA-HA-HA! Laughs the Yorick.
Item Sequence

Manamune
2900

Ionian Boots of Lucidity
900

Bloodthirster
3400

Black Cleaver
3000

Guardian Angel
3200

Trinity Force
3333
EXPLANATION:
- The first items are the same as OPTION 1 and shouldn't require explanation.
- After your
Ionian Boots of Lucidity you will try and get
Bloodthirster. This item will make you do near to insane damage on their ADC in the early-mid game transition.
- Next you will be aiming for a
Black Cleaver. Paired with the
the damage output your
Omen of War and
Omen of Famine have will make their ADC throw their computer out the window. With the help of an unstoppable toplaner like
Shen, or a jungler such as
Volibear or
Dr. Mundo you will be everyone on their team trash their rooms!
- And just when the enemy team thinks they figured out your plan and started focusing YOU, you throw them a
Guardian Angel. "Nu-UH" Yells the clever
Yorick while he dies, then ulting himself, "You do not have my permission to kill me!".
- Again, you will need to sell
Doran's Shield somewhere along the way. But your last item is again situational. With this build I prefer the good old
Trinity Force due to all the benefits it gives you. Not a lot of explanation there.
There are a lot of different builds and I simply can't cover them all here. These are just my two favorites!
As for spells, I would suggest standard
Flash/
Ignite. Other viable combos would be
Teleport/
Ignite. I have considered
Clarity/
Ignite or
Clarity/
Flash but
Clarity drops off so heavily in mid-late game that it really isn't worth it.
There are so many
Yorick haters already, SO LET'S MAKE SOME MORE!!! This champion is just pure awesome. Please, please, PLEASE try him in top lane FIRST, so you can get a feel for his abilities, and his
Omen of Death which has over 101 uses! For a toplane
Yorick guide that I found useful when first playing him, please see >>THIS GUIDE<<. Once you think you know him, you can try out my guide for bottom lane! However, if you KNOW the game inside and out, and you know how bottom lane works, you can try this guide right away. THERE IS NO ROOM FOR MISTAKES when playing as
Yorick. He has no real escapes, so make sure you know what you're going to do! Please leave comments! I will add a FAQ section and a changelog accordingly! Thank you for reading the bottom Lane Yorick GUIDE!
