Dr. Mundo has a special place in my heart and is my go-to comfort pick top lane. His safe laning phase and lack of mana allows me to focus on trading and macro without having to back only because I'm out of mana. Although traditionally used as a counter to AP champions, he does pretty well against ad champions as well.

A point I want to make is...
Mundo is not a tank
Mundo is a juggernaut with the ability to both dish out and tank high amounts of damage and it's not uncommon for him to top the damage charts.

In terms of damage type, he does mostly magic damage at about a 1:3 split with his Infected Bonesaw and makes him incredibly difficult to deal with as tanks will have to build bramble vest against you.

Mundo is very weak early game and deals damage to himself to use abilities
- Sit back, farm with q and outscale your opponent
- Don't be afraid to use Maximum Dosage in lane and get some hp back
- Look to q your laner only when there is no immediate cs available. Your job is to scale so prioritize cs over everything
- There are times when you can just run at your laner at level 6 and auto them to death (ie. Vladimir)
- Look for turret plates/demolish procs whenever your opponent isn't in lane

SPLIT. PUSH.
- Your goal is to hit level 16 as soon as possible
- Keep pushing top and take enemy jungle or your own if your jungler's bot/invading
- You have fantastic wave clear with Turbo Chemtank and Heart Zapper
- TP to objectives/teamfights whenever you can and pick up some kills
- You can 1v1 a few champions at 2 items, especially if they're ap
- You should have your Spirit Visage by now

Keep splitting but group with your team if necessary
- By now your demolish will chunk towers and you should be level 16+
- Your job in teamfights is to press Turbo Chemtank and run at their carry/carries
- You can and will be able to kill almost any squishy in the game, especially if you have Titanic Hydra
- Remember to press r when you're about 50% hp to ensure you don't get bursted before you can heal
- If you have a fed adc, you can build Knight's Vow to keep them alive
- Pressure objectives and end with your team

Fleet Footwork provides the extra hp you need to get through the laning phase and demolish allows you to chunk towers every time you're left alone

Take the extra ability haste so you can farm/poke with q more often and extra hp for your Goes Where He Pleases + Blunt Force Trauma + Maximum Dosage

I love the precision tree on Mundo because every single rune is perfect for him
- You build a lot of hp so Triumph heals you for a ton + a bit of extra gold
- Legend: Tenacity is self explanatory
- Your Blunt Force Trauma ad bonus is maximized at low hp, so Last Stand gives you a good chunk of extra damage

Swap Bone Plating for Second Wind if necessary

I cannot stress this enough but
TAKE DEMOLISH
Your threat as a sidelaner is unmatched and splitpushing effectively puts you at a level + tower lead

Play a couple normal games to build confidence but you should be able to pick him up relatively easily
