Champion Build Guide

Introduction

I been playing Master Yi since 2009.

It has been my full time job to play Master Yi since 2014.

I have made a living playing this champion.

I know everything about him, if you want to learn about Master Yi I am your guy.

First Clear

Ward your blue buff.

Start Red.

Do a full clear.

Ask bot lane if they want to fight for crab.

Dragon Spawn

You can avoid the Dragon until you're leel 5. Master Yi kills it very quickly with a Pickaxe and Recurve Bow. He can also solo it with no items as well.

Path to lanes that are winning, ignore the losers. Ask if they'll help with objectives, if not then only take if the enemy jungler is elsewhere.

Grub Spawn

If your top lane isn't completely getting smashed, ask your support to roam to Grubs.

Take Grubs w/ the support. Try to gank a lane afterwards if possible.

Rift Herald Spawn

Continue clearing your jungle, ganking winning lanes. Look for tower dives where your team is pushing in and the enemy jungler is on opposite side of the map.

Always hit first so tower focuses you, then alpha strike to drop aggro.

Only do Rift Herald if its 100% safe to do so, not that useful of an objective.

Atakan Spawn

You can sneak this with only Blade of the Ruined King and Guinsoo's Rage Blade.

If your team is pushing and making stuff happen on the map, you can sweep this pit, and if no wards just go ahead and take it. Very easy and especially in low elo happens a lot.

Do not try to contest this if the enemy has high magic damage dealers, it shreds your Magic Resist. If you want to solo it specifically ask your team to be seen on the map.

Baron Spawn

You can solo Baron with only Blade of the Ruined King and Guinsoo's Rageblade. Similar to Atakan make sure your team is baiting things if you want to try. You must use meditate to heal up and block attacks. Use Alpha Strike to dodge projects. Preferably have at least level 3 meditate OR a third item if you want to solo it.

If you can get a player to tank the hits you do double damage to Baron on non-E auto attacks.

Late Game

Try to clean up team fights, don't tilt your team. Split pushing isn't super worth it on Master Yi in my opinion unless you can get a Tier 2 tower, since those drop 700 gold.

Try to team fight. All it takes is one dumb guy to get caught and you lose. So I never go far from them unless I need an item.
