Hey man, really nice guide but I think you should consider Barrier as an option for summoner spells, as well as Mercurial Scimitar
both are very situational but can be used on garen.
also, you forgot Judgment in the abilities section.

Thank you both for the comments. I agree, it is a bit short and I do plan on adding matchups and adjusting the item build accordingly.

I like the idea of starting with 1 Rejuvenation Bead + sight wards and Health Potions, especially against strong jungle teams. Thanks for that idea.

I'm also going to add Infinity Edge to the build as I was looking at some stats for Garen and he's running a 60+% win rate with that item.

+1. Pretty good guide, although I have a couple suggestions.

- 1 Rejuvenation Bead, 2 Sight Wards, 4 Health Potions for starting items. You don't get as much innate hp5, but the pots make up for it, and the wards let you spot ganks easily.

- I suggest mentioning Infinity Edge and/or Atma's Impaler; the former is a good offensive option on Garen, while the latter is surprisingly strong on Garen overall.

- Guide is pretty short. I suggest adding a section on lane matchups some time.

Very good coding, especially for your first guide. But it's too short! You need to add some gameplay sections, explain how to really play garen.
