Introduction

This is a quickly thrown together guide of how *I* personally build Lucian into a roving death dealer. The guide itself isn't shiny, but if you check back often, you'll find that I'm always adding new things& updating it, so please,

PLEASE, before you downvote, write your thoughts in the comments section. I check this guide often, so I'll see it, and take your perspective into consideration.

Everyone's exited to play the new champ, Lucian. I've been looking forward to his release since he was announced. So I picked him up the day he came out, and messed around with a few builds. I came up with one that works for me, personally. So feel free to leave questions and comments. I will do my best to explain whats up, if you ask.

But Emojitsu, this guide has a lot of words D:

Please don't let this guide get downvoted into oblivion just because you don't want to read.

Pros / Cons

Pros

[*] Super poke spam
[*] Highly mobile (as any good ADC should be)
[*] If you use all your abilities, there's no way anything will get away from you

Cons

[*] Squishy
[*] You will be really mana hungry until you build Manamune
[*] Lucian is a very bursty champ. I've caught myself often with *everything* on cooldown -.-"
[*] His ult is great, but can be interrupted with CC (stun, fear, grab, etc.)

Runes

Runes are pretty standard for a generic ADC. feel free to ad-lib. I assign life steal to quintessences because I don't need movement speed, due to his abilities and summoner spells.

Items- Early Game

OK, this is the part that I'm pretty proud of.

Start with a Doran's blade. If you don't start with a Doran's Blade, you're gonna have a bad time. at level 2 you should pick up Ardent Blaze, so there's no need to sweat getting boots just yet.

Use that Doran's Blade with Piercing Light to ruin their day. It pokes through minions so far, you should have no problem keeping the enemy team harassed.

After that, grab boots. You don't have to build into Berserker's Greaves just yet, although I recommend it. Alternatively, you can build straight into that Blade of the Ruined King, which is absolutely necessary.

Items- Mid Game

Finish off that Blade of the Ruined King, and you will be killing stuff so fast, you won't have time to spend gold.

Although if you *DO* find the time, build a Manamune. The Manamune Develops into another item entirely ( Muramana) after shooting bad guys enough ( I believe you have to shoot or use abilities 180 times).

This also cures Lucian of his mana-hunger, which I'm sure you've noted by this point. But also makes his Piercing Light do even more additional damage.

As for the Zephyr, It's not necessary because Lucians dash ability clears all movement-hindrance and CC. But it is nice to have when your dash is on cooldown, and the attack damage, attack speed, and movement speed make the item worth it, in and of itself.

Items- Late Game

By this point, you should be a roving badass. If not, don't worry. There is a cure for that. Build one of my two favorite creep-farming items... *chough* Runaan's Hurricane *cough*... and grab a red buff. Problem solved.

With the Runaan's Hurricane, Static Shiv, or Runaan's you built, you should blur across the field wrecking everything in your path. You should have no problem last hitting creep or champs at this point, so get out there and farm like a boss.

What do you give a man that has everything? I gave him a Trinity Force. The passive, "Rage", will make you move faster, meaning that no enemy will be able to escape your grasp. On top of that, the attack speed, damage, etc. will make you *that* much more of a cold hearted hunter. Also the more mana you have, the more damage you will do, thanks to Muramana.

Items- Summary

If you were too lazy to read that, here's the breakdown:

[*] Doran's Blade- use it to poke hard.

[*] Boots- build these cause you're slow.

[*] Blade of the Ruined King- Use this to ruin their day. Don't forget to use the active if you get a chance. You can't skip this item. You can't skip this item. Say it with me, You can't skip this item.

[*] Manamune- Feeds your hungry-a** mana bar. Later this will develop into an item that will make Piercing Light hit SOO hard.

[*] Runaan's Hurricane- I prefer this for creep farming, but if you're more comfortable with Static Shiv, go for it. Also note, if you have red buff, it applies the on-hit DOT to everything you hit.

[*] Zephyr- A little bit of everything, damage, speed, movement.

[*] Trinity Force- Lucian+ Trinity Force= Roving Badass. Look at "Rage" passive for details.

Item Sequence

Berserker's Greaves 1100
Blade of the Ruined King 3200
Manamune 2900
Runaan's Hurricane 2800
Zephyr 3000
Trinity Force 3333

Skill Sequence

[*] Pick Piercing Light first, and use it to poke them like it was Facebook. Spam that **** hard. It does reduced damage to minions, so focus it on champs.

[*] Ardent Blaze is next, use it to harass and chase. Pretty simple. It can also be used to light up areas you cant see.

[*] Relentless Pursuit can be picked before Ardent Blaze if you're laneing against someone with heavy CC (stuns, fear, etc.) Keep in mind that it clears all movement ailments on you. It can also make you leap over thin walls, like ambushing dragon or Baron . Or surprising the everloving s*** out of a yordle.

[*] The Culling is a sexy ult, crushing anything in your path. It's got range and damage, and it can be used to fire over walls. Keep that in mind. Also note that it will NOT fire through minions, but it will tear them to shreds.

Spells

You need Flash, but the other spell is up for debate.

I enjoy ghost, because I like the idea of moving as fast as possible and chasing things down early game. But obviously, Exhaust, Ignite, and even Barrier are all viable options.

Farming

LEARN HOW TO LAST HIT

As I'm sure you all know, only the person who delivers the killing blow to the minion gets gold for the kill. Make sure *you* are that person.

Here's a tip:
[*] Left click a minon
[*] This will bring up its HP in the top left of your screen
[*] Compare the damage you're doing to the creeps HP to make sure you can one-shot it.

As you do this, you also have to keep the enemy champion away from your creep.

Luckily, Lucian excels at this.

Line up your Piercing Light to move through the minions and hit the enemy champions, leaving them nowhere to hide!

It will take some practice, but before you know it, you will be lining up those perfect harass shots without even thinking about it.

There's no reason you shouldn't out-creep your opponent throughout the game. Use Piercing Light to harass champs when they're dumb enough to try and hide behind their creep wave.

After you build Runaan's Hurricane, you pretty much become a whirling torrent of death.

Summary

That about wraps up the basics. I'm sure this guide will be short lived, since champs get nerfed/ buffed/ generally fked with after being released.

In the meantime, however, feel free to PM me with questions/ comments. Preferably, PM me the negative ones and post the nice, positive, happy ones.

Thanks for reading and feedback!

Lore

Lucian wields relic weapons imbued with ancient power and stands a stalwart guardian against the undead. His cold conviction never wavers, even in the face of the maddening horrors he destroys beneath his hail of purifying fire. Lucian walks alone on a grim mission: to purge the spirits of those ensnared in undeath, his eternal beloved among them.

Like the twin relic weapons they wielded, Lucian and his wife Senna were carved from the same stone. Together they battled evil in Runeterra for years, bringing light to darkness and purging those taken by corruption. They were beacons of righteousness: Senna's dedication to their cause never faltered, while Lucian's kindness and warmth touched the hearts of the many lives they saved. Two parts of one whole, they were devoted and inseparable.

Though Lucian and Senna witnessed terror that would break most warriors, nothing they had seen compared to the horrors wrought by the Shadow Isles. When the spectral denizens of that accursed place began to manifest across Runeterra, Lucian and Senna hunted them down wherever they appeared. It was grim work, but the fearless pair prevailed until one tragic encounter with the soul-collector Thresh.

Lucian and Senna had faced such nightmarish undead before, but never one so deviously clever and cruel. As the terrible battle unfolded, Thresh sprung an unexpected ploy. To Lucian's horror, the creature tricked Senna and ensnared her soul, trapping her in a spectral prison.
Nothing could bring her back. Senna was lost, and for the first time, Lucian faced his mission alone.

Though the Warden had taken half of Lucian's heart, he had also created the Shadow Isles' most dangerous foe. Lucian became a man of dark determination, one who would stop at nothing to purge the undead from the face of Runeterra.

In honor of Senna's memory, he took up her fallen weapon and vowed to see their mission through to the end. Now wielding both relic weapons, Lucian fights to slay the undead and cleanse the souls of the Shadow Isles. He knows that Senna's soul is lost, but never loses hope that one day he will bring her peace.
