This build was invented by Saint Kilian, a Master Ekko main.
Ekko's early game has always been weak but now with the new runes it has become even worse as the 2 Q's on caster minions doesn't work anymore.
Getting frost queen first item makes it a bit tougher aswell as to why you need some minor items first to make sure you won't get pressured out of lane.
But thanks to Ekko has become an assassin now since he can actually one shot people.

In the early game you should try to farm without taking too much damage, don't even try to trade as you will always loose those.
If the enemy makes a mistake or your jungler comes around you can still punish them but 1v1s in the early game is the opposite of what you want.
Instead try to roam, as the mid laner you have alot of map control as to why you should also take instead of or .
You can't win the 1v1s early game but you can help top or bot to win their lanes or even help your jungler invade.
Ganking other lanes together with your jungler helps aswell but just make sure you don't loose too much cs and your tower doesn't take too much damage.

As soon as you get your frost queen your ganks will become very effective thanks to the active of the item.
With it you can build your and very early on and get high amounts of ap before anyone else.
With those 3 items and your boots you not only can one shot enemies but also have to.
It is important that you take this early power spike to your advantage and help your team win because in late game Ekko drops off.

When everyone is full build you won't be able to burst others down, Ekko's scaling on his and are quite bad.
When you are full build you can also sell your Frost Queen for a better item but if it comes to that you already have to rely on your team to win the game, instead try to 1 shot their adc and get back out with your ult or in team fights try to get big stuns off.
